Do u eat red meat daily?
Stop all animal protein for a week & see if it will subside.

Do not self medicate especially with antibiotics.
It might be from a serious allergy also.

Check with another doctor and let him know your history with the 1st doctor and what you were prescribed to take for it.

Ask to know if a blood test or mucus test can reveal the exact bacteria causing your sinusitis, so you can be prescribed drugs that is most effective in killing the bacteria.

A humidifier should help loosen your sinuses although you should ask your doctor if a humidifier would be beneficial in your situation or not necessary. Humidifiers are not so expensive, you can get one for as little as 5k.
Also vinegar sprayed in the air helps kill germs in the air.

Ask if a combination of antibiotics therapy is better than using just one to fight the infection.

Pound and boil a mixture of Ginger, garlic and cloves and take with some honey at least twice a day. Ask your doctor to know if it'll interact with any meds you're taking/gonna be taking. It shouldn't bt just to be on the safe side.

Try to do this and by God's grace you're gonna be fine, I know herbal meds work too bt you need to start with western meds for a faster relief.

I have had it before and as some people have mentioned , take warm water ginger/garlic. Steaming helps a lot too. Anything to drain it and don't force it by blowing your nose ,it will aggravate the pain.
Running/ jogging helped me a lot.
And the most important thing for me then was I was able to identify the triggers/allergens and staying away from them. It's been more than 2years since I last had it. Sorry ehn

Thank you so much sir... But this is the first time I'm experiencing this. I don't think it an allergy cus 2 to 3 days before it started I was having cold and Catarrh which mistook malaria. The doctor told me the infection was triggered by the catarrh

Actually, I can't remember. I know I did face abi nose X-ray, and the result was fine...
I can also remember that I didn't take any injection, just some tabs, antibiotics or so.

my advice is, whether you are taking normal cold medicine, just stick with drinking hot water, pain relief, and massaging your face with warm water always, especially the bones around your eye, nose area.

I also suffer from this too and the best way to fully resolve it is surgery (open up your nasal cavity) but if you don’t want to do that then you have to be using nasal spray all the time.
If you allow fluids to build up in your nasal cavities then it leads to aches and infections and inflammation.
Get a good nasal spray and live a good life

Modified: I need to put more info on this topic because of so many claims I see up there especially about herbal remedies; one needs to understand what causes sinus infection
So naturally/normally we build up fluids in our nasal passages and these fluids will drain normally through the cavities however if you were born with smaller cavities or you build up fluids faster than you drain them out then the fluid accumulates up to the forehead leading to aches/pain and discomfort. This fluid may get infected after a while if not quickly drained.
So the antibiotics doesn’t necessarily cure the fluid accumulation, it only kills the bacteria problem; you need to drain out the fluid as quickly as they build up and there are only two ways
1. Open up your nasal cavities via surgery
2. Use nasal spray to “thin up” the fluid and make them drain faster
3. Or move to a hot and less humid region

Everything other remedies (using heat or hot elements) tries to thin out the fluid too to make it drain faster. I Found the nasal sprays to be the most efficient of them all.

Well I'm not here to spoil anybody's business, but OP, the illness is not a big deal, other than the pain and discomfort, there's nothing to panic. Just visit the hospital, and don't sel-medicate please. Even the most substandard hospital will treat you well. An X-ray maybe required to ascertain the level of things, other than that, its just normal laboratory tests and then simple prescription

Ehyaa l'm currently battling the same issue so l can feel your pains...you just feel like going crazy sometimes...avoid anything cold...shower with hot water and use cortisteriods, esp Dexamethasone (Dexa). Also take Amoxicillin (Antibiotic), all these surely helps. But be rest assured that the chronic condition can last for more than 3 months...mine has lasted for almost five months now.

Something similar happened to my friend years back but he's fine now. I think the best remedy is surgery. Didn't the doctor propose that to you?! If not; find another hospital. Pls don't do any home remedy being dishes out here o so as not to worsen things. It is well with you.

I am not a doctor or specialist but I have had Sinusitis, it took about 3months before I could recover from it although mine was not causing me severe pain.
My advise for you is to go and see an ENT doctor who specialises in treating cases like this. I was told one may require surgery treatment to get better.
Pls don't waste time, find one, if you are in Lagos, they are PLENTY HOSPITALS IN IKEJA that offer this services.I wish you quick recovery
