I ponder over this all the time. What is the essence of life?
Why are we here?
Is there life somewhere?
Is there a God somewhere?
How did we get here?
Why the earth, out of so many planets in the universe.

To me, it will be difficult to answer all these questions. My only belief is that there is a Supreme Authority, a Powerful force, maybe a being, spirit, Angel or something indescribable. There is a Super Powerful Force that created or made this universe to come into existence.
The universe did not just start to exist by accident. It maybe by the collision of planets as propagated by science, or by creation as told by religious dogma.
Whatever that made it possible for this existence to begin to exist is GOD.
It may be coined with many IDs and names like Jehovah, Allah, Krishna etc. It is a super intelligent being for it to know that a star like the sun located millions of miles away is needed to give life to the earth. Without this giant star the earth will frozen within munites and all life ceases to exist. This star have never extinguished since from the day of its birth billions of years ago, and will continue to more billions to come.

What is man looking for in the name of science in a place that is inhabitable? Perhaps to tap into its massive endless energy--- that's good for us, but let humans know when we have reached our boundaries and not to cross the red lines.

I wish NASA best of luck in their quest for human technological advancement that will bring good things to humanity and make the world a better place.
Two points i want to add to your comment.
This super being/Creator that religious people call God didn't create the world the way religious people put it. Science may not be 100% correct yet but they are closer to the answer. So believe Science.

Secondly, there is no limit to what we humans should explore. Our creator knows what we can do and we can't go beyond the ability we have been given.

And more importantly, one of the most important reason for life is to explore and find out what our creator has made. This is one of the reasons we are here.

Knowledge about the solar system and the universe in general, which leads to more understanding of our environment, how to protect ourselves from radiation and meteors and asteroids, and building technologies that benefit us here on earth. Without an understanding of orbital mechanics and electromagnetic waves and time dilation mediated by gravity, we won't have satellites and GPS. You won't have a mobile phone or Internet or the ability to navigate your way home from your nearest bar where you drown your acute ignorance in cheap liquor.

When a human dies, some cells will start mutation almost immediately to outlive their host. This means we are interdependent with these tiny organisms.

If you look at our planet from space, we are soooo tiny and insignificant. Including the planet.

Now, the earth surface is just a part of it. What makes earth, earth lies within it with series of hot matters and waters that we can never fathom.

I see us like lices living and terrorizing earth. Like an infection of sort.

The earth is also like a cell in the middle of a giant organism.

The giant organism is likely to be inside another organism, etc.

If the earth dies, we die too. Or enter into a different state of existence.

Bleep it, how do we even start existing? I believe whoever started this had written a law, like we program computers. We are all guided by these laws and there is nothing we can do about it.

But who the Bleep started all these? Is it even necessary? Must there be an existence? Why is there an existence? Is it not possible that nothing should even be existing?

Nothing at all.

Nothing…

There are some time I go into a spiritual state, whereby I will enter into myself to draw out myself. Like, I am living inside and outside of myself.

I think we all wrote the laws (our spirit) and we all live in the laws we have created for ourselves. We created this mess. But how?
This is deep.

Those findings can lead to discoveries that can be useful on earth. Like the following;

Researchers have discovered that growing crystals aboard the space station allows for slower growth and higher quality crystals. This high-quality crystallization allows us to identify the structures of disease-causing proteins to develop a new medications and effective treatments

Water is vital for human survival. Unfortunately, many people around the world lack access to clean water. At-risk areas can gain access to advanced filtration and purification systems through technology that was developed for the space station, enabling the astronauts living aboard to recycle 93% of their water

The first item was 3D printed on the space station in 2014. Since then, we have explored 3D printing using recycled materials and even printing human tissue.

Mr Tunde, even after living in Canada for how many years, you still did not seize to ask a question like a typical backward indoctrinated Nigerian.

Make we share money dey go Mecca and Jerusalem and bow down to white man and lick Arab assholes.
Then build the biggest churches in Nigeria.
While the rest of the world explore the universe and continue to advance.
You run quickly go the advance country and your mind is to populate your descendants there and they change their names to Peter, Michael and Jessica and speak through their nostrils forming accents and say my parents are from Africa, I yam a Canadian.
Dress and take pictures with snow and feel good about your japa and lost identity and heritage
the problem with some of you is that una no get sense lol.

Because i asked a question for conversation purposes make others learn you don go download my japa history. For your info i follow Nasa and space x on twitter. Watched the elon musk chopstick rocket live. 😂

If we are to construct a dyson sphere which will envelop the sun, we must have some knowledge of its surrounding. Moreover, our knowledge of the sun can help us build smaller suns for clean unlimited energy.

What boundaries Mr man? The destiny of man is to break away from his biological programming and become a god.
Right now, We talking quarks, leptons, gluons, higgs particle, neutrinos, condensed and programmable matter. The sun is old school nuclear fussion.

It’s just a massive ball of gas (ionized one) just like many of the planets in our solar system.

They’re just gas formed like a ball.

If you manage to land on them and not die, you’ll just find yourself falling through it down to the other side.
