An enlightened culture cannot accept another's language, education, religion.

Those three are different aspects of the same and shouldn't be given to you by someone else.

However, if given by someone else (as is our case) there has to be some sort of "conversion" before any of the above would be useful outside of where it originated. That's why they'll make you undergo some test or training when you get to another culture.

You don't know anything actually..

Have you seen anyone that study outside Nigeria, for example, a Doctor or a Nurse ..that will not pass Medical Council or Nursing Council of Nigeria's professional exams before they can practice in Nigeria

Same with you going abroad ... because most professions are regulated, you have to pass their professional exams with youe foreign degree certificate to work there.

Same also for professions that are well regulated in Nigeria like Nursing and Doctor... you have to pass their exams with your foreign degrees certificate before you can practice in Nigeria.

For me, Nigerian degrees even if FIRST CLASS it's not actually useful outside Nigeria. Mostly in western countries i.e USA Canada Luxembourg etc.

That's why when people who relocate to this country who want to push on their professional careers always go back to school in those country.
Reason I guess is based on their educational and teaching standard requirements.

This guy you don't know what you are writing. Don't confuse people, in your first post, you mentioned that before you can practice as a doctor or as a nurse, you will need to apply for a program/degree and start from the beginning.

Writing an exam to get license to practice in a country is different from start a degree to get trained.

Getting license is just like what we called a competency assessment.

Those exams are for the purposes of obtaining a license to practice. Nigerian degrees are well respected here in the US. You do not have to go back to school as you could just study on your own and write the tests. It is a different story if you are changing your area of specialization. Example, you have a degree in History and you want to be a school teacher, you are required to go take basic courses in Education. Sounds reasonable to me.

I am a physiotherapist, I got a job in UK directly from Nigeria in 2022 and I moved there and I work with NHS, I only applied for a license to work as a physiotherapist in UK. That is all I did.

I have met so many doctors that studied in Nigeria, working as doctors here, they didn’t have to go to any more school, they just wrote the licensing exams to practice which is standard.

I have countless number of nurses who got job directly from Nigeria.

For every country you have professional bodies all you require is their license to practice which ones need to undertake their exam and pass.
Then English proficiency tests in some cases.

You can be certified to practice as a dr in the us right from your home country provided you av passed passed your steps 1 and 2 (both can be written in west africa) which gives you the ability to go for your residency training in the US...takes 4 year to 7 years to finish your residency program.

I completed my HND in River state polytechnic and I back it up with experience, that is what am using here as a technologies.
Nigeria certificate is recognized all over the world.

That's not correct. Loads of diffrence in what I said and what he said. If you study medicine in USA or any other countries of the world, and you want to practice in Nigeria, you will need to pass Nigeria's Medical council professional exams..Does that mean USA certificate is not trusted

Before you can say a certificate is not recognized, it will not even qualify you to be able to sit for those exams. The fact you can use your BSc certificate to get MSc and PhD positions, and also get remote jobs while in Nigeria means they are well recognised.

So, having to write a professional exams before starting a professional job does not mean the certificate is not trusted..it is just a global practice.

In the UK, Physios, Med Scientists, Radiographers are regulated by the HealthCare Professions Council (HCPC). The seek to evaluate the Naija degrees and you must register with the HCPC if you must work in the UK.

You do not need to write any exams, but they will communicate with your regulatory council or Board in Nigeria to ensure that you are a truly a professional and in good standing before you are fully registered in the UK. The registration also costs money..

After registeration, you apply for jobs from here in Nigeria. NHSjobs, Linkedin are some of the places you can apply for sponsored jobs. You do your interviews via zoom, Google meet, and if you pass, they bring you down to the UK.

Your employer would most likely give you some hands-on orientation training.

I hope I try to explain this as much understandable as I can for you.

You see all those doctors here in Nigeria right, they are not doctors when the relocate abroad. They get jobs as home care aid to nursing sick people. That is a different occupation far far from practicing as a doctor in America or Canada or UK.
Infact you can as well apply to be a home care assistant as well with your university degree from Nigeria which is considered a normal equivalent to diploma here. You just have to pass the nursing exam which I know a 200level university student from Nigeria can read the Q&A and pass as well.
What you do is simply take care of old people or mentally unstable people and make sure they don't poop on their self or when they do you change them and also make sure they take their meds regularly and also monitor them so they don't harm their self.
Anybody can do that job infact that is equivalent to a factory job if you don't know only this time you be more careful because you handling a human life and can be arrested and you go to jail if you flop because it is stated there in your agreement you sign before you start working.

If you want to be a doctor in these countries, you have to apply for a medical or a nursing program/ degree where you undergo the process from the begining according to the countries teaching regulations and standards, pass the necessary exams, go for your training practice, write another exam if you fail you have to retake it which happens very often because I have friends who it has happened to. Then luckily you pass them you go under the process to be a certified nurse or doctor depending on the field you choose.

I really understand your point, even my brother inlaw a qualified practising Doctor in Nigeria still had to write some professional certification before he can practice.
