An old traditional system that is outdated and absolutely barbaric is still being practiced by some group of people.
A friend of mine dated a girl and really loved and wanted to marry the girl .
When he took the girl to his parents, the parents told him not to get married to the girl on the basis that she is an osu caste .
The girl cried bitterly and that was how the relationship ended with the girl getting married to another person likewise the boy too.
My question is why practice this type of system and if you are hell bent on practicing it why don't you tell your children that this is what you practice and they must adhere to it and also teach them how to identify osu boys and girls so that their children won't get married to them.
I still can't fathom why people are still practicing this type of system in this 21st century.

My parents is always against marrying an osu but that's not Christianity and I don't care if my present gal is osu I'm marrying her.

But if I may ask you, do you select who treats you in the hospital to avoid been treated by an osu or you select the canteens you enter to eat or the schools you attend, c'mon let's grow up pls and kindly change your mindset.

God created rats, cockroaches, fleas and pigs but I'm sure you would be disgusted by them.

Besides traditionally it was an abomination to touch an Osu it was equally an abomination to kill them, Osus had certain rights and privileges that the average Igbo man didn't have which is why people became it. It only became an oppression in the modern day

A closer relationship would be the military and civilians, soldiers don't have to line up and follow normal rules that civilians have to obey, they can kill somebody and never get punished by the law or God, if they are punished it would be for shooting without orders or indiscipline.

Even in the army there are still ranks that separates one soldier from another.

You have a good point but if we truly follow your logic to it's fullest then every successful person would be a criminal or a beneficiary of a crime.

Do you believe Moses is a hero? What of King David? They committed murder, theft, rape and banditry but are they not considered good people?

What of the British colonialist that abolished Osu discrimination, were they good people?

If we follow your logic then the people who abolished Osu discrimination and those who condemn Osu discrimination are actually evil people or profiteers of evil.

Which begs the question, why are you condemning me?
