000. However, the total package, including additional charges, amounted to N750,000 per year.

The lady expressed disappointment with Lagos agents, pointing out that the apartment's toilet had no window. She also noted that the interior was so dark that she would need to use a flashlight even during the day to see clearly.

Its actually draining.

Its one of the few things i dont fancy about the state. The houses/rent are overpriced and aside the socalled highbrow areas of Lagos, then maybe some places in the mainland like Ilupeju,Yaba,Onipanu, Ogba, Egbeda, Festac and where again, houses in other places are very horrible looking with ridiculous rent fee


The parlour, kitchen and bathroom spacing in most of the houses would make you wonder if they didnt include them in the initial house plan...very very small


No even talk about agent and agreement fee.

The funny thing is, Lagosians boast about these things as if its a flex. Not at all, na suffer you dey suffer

You'd spend more to rent a Self-con in Lagos than you'll ever spend to get a 2bedroom flat in Ibadan or a mini flat in Ogun


For most remote workers that are of SW origin, a large percentage of them prefer IB or Ogun to Lag. The obsession to live in Lagos isnt there because from an economic POV, you're spending more on things of same comparative value, especially if you are in an area with 33kva constant power supply. Ogba is not a highbrow area at all, but it is relatively close to the capital, Ikeja. I live in one of Ogba’s suburbs, where rent is still cheaper than in Ogba itself. However, even here, there are no decent (modern) mini-flats available for less than 500k anymore. There are cheaper apartments, but they wouldn’t be much different from what you see in those pictures. What you see in Ogba is just a reflection of many other parts of Lagos Mainland - a mix of old, dilapidated, and modern houses, all struggling to breathe in the same environment.

Most of the other areas I mentioned border Ogun State, while the rest are simply too far from business districts. Roads are another major factor to consider.

And they have better houses, good road network no agbero no unnecessary harassment from police and 24 hours electricity so where are you comparing them from exactly?.

You sef no try. You dey find miniflat for 500k at Ogba. 😂 Even with 1m, what you'll get will be close to a poultry house or at best a crowded old house.

To get something decent for 500k, you will need to move to Mowe, Alagbole, Agbado, Iyana-Iba side, Akute, Ajuwon, or just kukuma go Abeokuta or Ibadan. Nothing dey Lagos again. If you've been living in your house before Tinubulation, just remain there in the name of whatever God you serve.

The cost of rent has doubled/trippled in the last 10 months. But you will never know until you make the move to get a new apartment.

I reside in my house in Lagos. Despite this, I'm planning on relocating overseas soon.

Those who are struggling financially and pay rents in Lagos are in a place hotter than Hell at the moment.

I usually advice these set of people to return to wherever they came from provided the place is still available.

There’s no business you would think about that’s not already been done in Asaba.
But then there’s always room for competition.

With a budget of 1 million, an agent would need to search further into Ogba suburbs like Obawole, Oke Ira, Fagba, Iju, and so on. One thing I have come to realise in the real estate/accommodation sector in Lagos is that the places we thought were more affordable are not actually so.

Moving to far places is by far the only way to cope. Things are really bad and no sector is exempted.

Those who are not currently searching for an apartment should just try to save up for future relocation plans.
