Ojey1234:go and do the cocoa farming abroad. Don't be unfortunate |
| Re: Travel Out Or Cocoa Farming by Cousin9999: 10:44pm On Dec 29, 2024 |
Going abroad is far more expensive now, and desirable countries are closing doors. However, your education, experience, resources, and finances do matter, along with your willingness to do specific jobs. Whether you should specifically start cocoa farming depends on your knowledge, resources, and how much you have to invest. You could be setting yourself up for disaster if you're not careful. But, the same money you might waste trying to go abroad might be able to start a massive farm and employ workers, even if it's rough at first. You need to do a lot of research. There's no shortcuts. But it's also a matter of preference and tolerance for risk. Some people would rather go and study nursing than try to figure out running a farming business. |

CaptainGo:yes, It should be more than that Based on how it's done over here, it can be watered atleast every 2 weeks until rain comes, even after the rain it can take up to 3 months that's if you will water it again before maturity. 12 months is enough to cashout on sugarcane I love it because it has unending market demand Ask people, I mean experienced farmers ooh not those University lectures Go to the farms, ask questions and you will be amazed |

mcjohny:I served in the North and saw trailer loads of this crop being shipped out. Does it grow anywhere or mostly up north?? Do you have a Thread I can read up more about it please?? I don't have the funds for this at the moment, but I'm looking to see if there's a way I can plug myself in the value chain of this crop. Will highly appreciate any help or assistance you can render to me sir. |

Love800:^^^ I asked the same question too. Unlike cocoa, cassava export prices have always been low. Cocoa is definitely far more difficult and expensive to grow. |

I will advice anyone who wants to go into Cocoa cultivation to do his or homework very well. Read a lot. Visit a cocoa plantation and observe things. Ask the cocoa Farmers questions and research properly. Go to Cocoa Research Institute and ask questions about the type of seedlings in existence. Cheers. |
| Re: Travel Out Or Cocoa Farming by richiemcgold: 4:39am On Dec 30, 2024 |
Trustyourself:It depends on where your farm is located. Ignorance is the reason many people think all farm communities in Nigeria experience herdsmen wahala. Idanre in Ondo State is the highest cocoa producing community in Nigeria, and they HAVE NEVER experienced anything like kidnapping or herdsmen attack in Idanre. That's just one out of many other examples. |

| Re: Travel Out Or Cocoa Farming by Nnamdipapa(m): 5:47am On Dec 30, 2024 |
Travelling on a visit visa or cocoa farming. always learn to frame your questions properly. A visit is not a migration. Now back to the question, a Schengen visa only allows you to travel within a specified period of time so your only option is to return to your Cocoa farming. |
