Yes he's way ahead but there's still games left in the season. Trophies might be the final determinant

M7even:
By December I have conceded that Mo Salah is the next caf African player of the year.

APOY kehuh SALAH is on the trajectory to be the Balon D’or winner. This one has performed for 7 seasons in a row. No season wonder

In life, if you perform well, you have opened many doors for others and vice versa if you fail, you have closed doors. Chukwueze you have 6 months to open or close doors for prospective Nigerians at ACMilan.

You don't know how much I detest seeing these content creators or the so called celebrities around these footballers. As a pro footballer, what in the hell are you hanging out with the likes of Carter Efe, Cubana Chief Priest etc for? Footballers used to have prestige and they were worshiped because it was rare to mingle with them or chat with them unless they granted you an interview as a journalist. See as Boniface dun make himself grain of rice for birds to feed on.

Big ups to the innit boys and the few others who have maintained their distances from these people.
na osimhen and boniface carry for head

Dem Dey form Lagos boys 🤦‍♀️

I don't think this is fair sha. Footballers are humans and they have a right to have a life outside of football. As long as said activities doesn't deter their primary assignment.

I don't fancy the guys you mentioned neither do I agree with their projected lifestyles. What I won't do however is use that as a model for other persons to fit into. Footballers clubbing and partying isn't new, it's been there since time immemorial. JJ, Kanu, Martins etc did same and mingled with the socialites during their time, the difference now is social media giving visibility to something that was hitherto not very exposed.

As for the init boys, the fact that they don't mingle with those in Nigeria is simply because they aren't familiar with them. A vast majority of these guys go clubbing and have folks in the mold of Cubana in London they also mingle with. Ola Aina has featured on multiple podcast and have very recently started something similar. Like I said, as long as it doesn't affect their primary assignment, they are entitled to a life outside football and we don't necessarily have to agree with those decisions as long as it isn't illegal.
I don't really see anything bad about the off camp activities. It's just a suitable excuse and a ready scapegoat for when we draw or lose when nobody really remembers that boniface appears in skits when the team was winning in that same uyo. We didn't seem to mind that content creators were near the eagles camp when we were getting maximum 3 points against benin and Libya in uyo but a loss against rwanda and suddenly it seems convenient to blame content creators for the lack of focus in the eagles camp.

Please understand the context. Nobody said they shouldn't socialize. At least I've seen Saka attend a BB game.

What we're talking about here is the way content creators trooped into the camp during international break conducting ridiculous interviews and contents which is not supposed to be so.

My own personal ideology is when you get to work, you work

All of them should be banned from visiting the camp. Let the players focus.

Again 2025 AFCON will not affect 2025 APOTY
I strongly disagree. Continental trophies and a player’s performance in them weigh heavily in these individual awards. The year Haaland broke the EPL single season goal scoring record was the year he should have won the Balon Dor but Messi winning the WC tipped the scale in his favor.

APOTY will be done before AFCON
The next AFCON starts December 21st

Nicely spotted observation. Bunch of Hypcrites they are. The free access they have must be destroyed. Only truly authorised media personnel should be granted access to the team. The nonsense must stop.

Attention seekers UTD.

Danielnino00:
All those content creators and influencer were not seen in the CHAN Eagles camp..

If it's the main super Eagles now, we will see them everywhere.

I hope the NFF can address this issue by March...

Calvin Bassey having a great run of games this season so far. Same for Iwobi. That Fulham squad is on a cruise this season. They need to consolidate by getting some new buys.

Aina to City? Abegiii eoooo. Avoid that Man!!

The Hypocrisy is real. About time we end their charade.

Danielnino00:
It's really nauseating....
I blame Eguavon and the NFF fr allowing such..

Modified: David Doherty posted about it on his page.. he sud one of the reasons those content creators didn't show up was because the home based players aren't moneybags like their foreign based counterparts..

I totally agree with him

Hmm quite true. Nothing is certain.
But then again it looks like he has worked himself to top 5 for next year Ballon d'or.

You'd agree with me that his first half of the season stats are outstanding enough for that recognition. If an African player makes the top 5 Ballon d'or list -and for any other African player to possibly outdo him on that list then it must mean that that player had a personal outstanding season like Mo is having and must have won his team at least a major trophy.
Liverpool may slip or lose form at some point in the season. But they are more like to win the EPL with 10 points gap.

Baba read the post I responded to, nothing he wrote is contextually similar to what you wrote here. I have my opinion on journalists visiting the Super Eagles camp but that wasn't what he wrote about. He particularly mentioned Cubana Chief Priest and Carter Efe who I believe have never visited a super Eagles camp before. This was a commentary on their life outside of camp hence my objections.
