The image is hard to read, did the ECO just cite #12,000 and #4000 as transfers that they couldn’t ascertain the origin? That makes absolutely no sense. Also, why would your reservation still be valid after they’ve refused your initial application? Jolene474: |

This people are funny, I explained to this same officer that the credit was not from unknown source, it was a refunded payment due to bank outage. I made a transfer of 12,000 and few days later it reverse, so also for the other amounts. This drunkards said from unknown source, they are just busy looking for credits from unknown source, which job in Nigeria will pay you12,000 and 4,000. Lol |

I think they were angry that I dragged them to their Home Office superiors, I sent a letter via DHL to Home Office Secretary, that one may have written them why they made error in a visa review and the individual sent a letter to the office, because the same day DHL delivered the letter where I blasted the Entry Clearance Officer and their impotence, that same day, an email from the Visa Head in Home Office wrote me that they were sorry about the refusal and would review it, now they did and they say 12,000 naira and 4,000 naira were credits on the account, after telling them this funds were transfers I made but were reversed due to bank outages. Me I don’t care, I’ll dragged them, thank God I’ve the email of UK ambassador in Lagos, I sent a letter to that one officer, he sent me a mail also. I’ll be copying them in the email, even if I don’t get the visa, I’ll drag them until this their credit and debit rubbish they do stop. I made a transfer of 12,000 naira and my bank reversed it, it now showed as deposit, you are saying it’s an unknown funds, can’t you see it’s reversed funds, the initial transfer is there but you can’t see it, just the reversal. I don’t know if UK banks don’t reverse funds if the transfer is not successful. I just think it’s rubbish talk. It’s just like a format, if you have any credit except your salary, Oya flag it. If it was a transfer I would even understand. |

Please chase this up, the referenced money makes no sense. They refused me, then my solicitor submitted a PAP, and they re-refused me again. They kept shifting the goal post. I chased it to a point where they couldn’t come up with a defensible refusal ground and if I took it to the court, they’d have had to pay my fees. Even after their legal department told them it wasn’t defensible, the ECO and ECM were still moving mad. I’ve attached their internal notes I got when I requested for my files and comment via subject access request. They overturned that refusal. Jolene474:

Hello guys, please what's an appropriate way to justify/explain a transaction reversal of 55,000 Naira, recently credited to my salary account? |

Congrats on your visa approval! Would you mind sharing how long you are planning to visit London and how much you budgeted on the application for the duration of your stay (flights included)? This will help guide prospective applicants. Merit23567890: |

Just annotate when it left your account and when it returned on the statement. b31164707: |

Jolene474:I’m sorry to hear about the refusal. …. In my opinion, this decision could be overturned if they want, but it’s important to remain calm. Please refrain from emailing the UK Ambassador or whoever, regardless of whether you have their email address. For your next complaint, I recommend using the email address, the complaints one and the public enquiry ones we’ve been mentioning on this thread or going through the PAP process. It’s best not to escalate the situation more than this regarding a visit visa. Use the complaints process OR pick your battles and visit other countries. Take care. |

I’ll do just that. Thank you. Please this is the refusal note, kindly help me explain to the best of your ability what the ECO meant. I believe they want a bank statement free from minor credits, even if it’s a bank reversal. I don’t understand the income and family part.

Jolene474:My own opinion- Either you continue with the complaints process, pursue a PAP, or simply leave them alone for now. If your goal is tourism and this country has denied your requests, consider exploring other countries first before returning to them. Your chances will be much better especially for someone saying they earn over 900k a month. Regarding family ties, they seem to have concerns about your declared income and the additional deposits. With no dependents other than your parents, they likely doubt your intention to return, given that you have no spouse or children to compel you. That is what I could deduce. |

Good morning and sincere apologies for the refusal letter. First of all, did you properly justify what the credits were for? Even if these credits were transaction reversals, I believe it is important to provide documented evidence to prove that these credits pertain to transaction reversals just so you don't give any room for them to think that the funds came from questionable/unknown sources. This documented evidence can be a brief signed letter from anyone who can attest to the fact that funds were reversed to your account, due to a failed transaction you were debited for. I know it might seem strange getting documented evidence for this, but it's always advisable to justify every and any inflow (no matter how small) to reduce the likelihood of a visa denial. I'm planning to submit my visa application in a few weeks, but before I do, I'm looking for how to properly justify a 55,000 Naira reversal, which was credited to my account, due to a failed funds transfer I was incorrectly debited for, then I'll highlight both the debited amount and the amount reversed in my account. As you can see, I'm taking the necessary precaution to prevent the risk of a visa denial even though I have a demonstrated travel history to the UK within the last ten years. Secondly, since you mentioned living with your dad and siblings, did you provide any documentation at all to demonstrate family ties? For instance, even if you don't own any physical assets, a signed letter from your dad confirming family responsibilities, such as looking after your family's property in his absence, as well as a copy of his utility bill (showing proof of address) and his passport biodata page can help demonstrate ties to your family. Looking forward to hearing from you. Jolene474: |

Hi guys, 2days now, there has been no collection mail for us, and the VFS tracker hasn't moved from the first position. I'm considering reapplying on priority, because waiting for the formal complaint may take longer time beyond the graduation pls, who has received their passport back from VFS (especially after refusal)? how long did it take? |

From my observation of their explanation, I have some questions. Was your salary of over 900k not reflected in your statement? Maybe that's why they are highlighting the small credits they mentioned. Also with regards to your ties, did you really not mention that anyone was dependent on you? That's a huge red flag for them. A letter of consent from one of your parents might have helped. Or maybe if you were supporting a sibling in a way that you could show proof. That might have helped your case. Jolene474: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by carnivorouschic(f): 12:29pm On Jan 01, 2025 |
P.S: my account had plenty of small credits. Some I explained, many I didn't. So it depends on the overall look of your account. The main thing is my salary was clear and it matched with my payslips each month. I would have had an issue because my salary wasn't the same every month due to direct debit for purchases at work but my payslips showed the different amount each month (although I got a call from UKVI asking me three questions including why my salary varied each month). I received monies from my dad, sisters, friends and clients who I make clothes for. I attached screenshots of conversation with the clients showing their payments as it reflects in my account, amounts ranged from 8k to 20k I think it greatly depends on a lot of factors and once your application ticks off more than one red flag, its down hill from there. The lack of family ties might have ruined your chances for this application. author=Jolene474 post=133515213]I’ll do just that. Thank you. Please this is the refusal note, kindly help me explain to the best of your ability what the ECO meant. I believe they want a bank statement free from minor credits, even if it’s a bank reversal.
