Move there and try to start a business like engineering consultancy or oil services.

If you mistakenly befriend a member of the royal family, you are coming back as Dangote.

Hi guys...

So I got a job in Saudi Arabia as a heavy duty equipment electrician 2years contract but renewable but am very scared to make the move cox of the fear of the unknown...

Firstly I work with a reputable company here in Nigeria in the maritime sector as a FTE and I get approximately 400k monthly and I am being offered a salary of 3500sr(1.3m) for the Saudi Arabia job. I will only visit my country once in a year, am not married and am 33, n pressure of marriage dey my neck.

Though accomodation and flight expenses will be catered for by the company but I don't know if it's really worth taking the move though I don't know the cost of living in saudi Arabia.... I don't know if you have a saudi Arabia experience.. please I need your inputs...

Thank you very much
Arabic country is good but they enslaved workers, they will give appointment letter and put eight hours work but 4 work rather u will work overtime without payment

Go to Saudi Arabia. Be wary of comfort zone.
Those who do not move, do not notice their chains.

Take the shot. If you're a Muslim, you will really enjoy the move. If you're a christian, you need to be extremely careful.

Make sure you make enquiry about the company before you move. Opportunities don't come on a platter of Gold.

Have you googled the company itself?

Do you know where you will be working?

What project will you be attached to?

This is the information you need to find out.

Who are the people you will be working with? When you say you were interviewed by hr - were you interviewed by any actual technical person? Normally in interviews the person you will be working with will interview you to access your competence and ability.

If you didn't have any form of technical interview that means it is laborer job they have set up for you. No one is going to hire an electrician without ascertaining their level of competence
I did 6 different interviews via teams with different section/Maintenance managers, electrical superintendent, electrical supervisor... I was tested technically, even 2 mobile cranes manuals was sent to me to study n I was asked questions about during the interview sections

Move to Saudi Arabia... It's one of the country that doesn't tax salary, so you're potentially looking at earning equivalent of 3-4 years Nigerian salary in 1 year of working in Saudi Arabia... Plus the new experience will boost your experience and CV a lot and will give you a lift if you want to travel to Europe from there. I doubt if you will want to after the experience.

Just ensure you give the job your 100%... Do you work well please...

As for marriage, make sure you marry someone with at least a bachelor's degree... No go look yansh and breast take choose wife o else you will regret your life. And yes, you can come back to marry in 2 years, if there's hope of you retaining the job for more years, and from there you can easily move to Canada/Germany/UK.

I don't need to tell you about Tinubu and the damage he's going to cause the country and how that will affect whatever income you think you are earning now in Nigeria.

Run while you still can but make sure the job is legitimate before making your final decision. No go quit your job now only to find out the job is a scam. If possible take a 2-3 weeks leave from your Nigeria job and go resume in SA. If everything is legit, send your resignation letter from there.

Wish you all the best
You gave a sound advice and almost complete one..
You only missed to add.... He should make sure the woman he marries is a VIRGIN

Well that sounds legit

You need to Google the people who interviewed you and also try to find Nigerians who are working in the company.

Hope you have considered accommodation, feeding and transportation over there? The salary maybe more than your current earning but consider the expenses also.
maybe the company is taking care of his accomodation.

There s share room accomodation and transportation but I will sort my feeding myself
wetin you dey chop sef, please take the next available flight and ensure to stay away from women. Two years is not too long a time to wait for marriage.

1.3m x 24months=31m(u no fit finish 10m on top feeding for the period of you actually have the hustling spirit).
400k x 24months=9m (u will still feed and spend on those your Yoruba girlfriends and that will gulp not less than 3-4m within the period in review) If you go to SA, after two years, you will have over 20m as savings, if you stay here, u may not have more than 5-6m, So choose wisely.

First one middle East.....not a great place for me
Let them do their own job

Secondly....the wage is just too low
That's about 750 USD per month

Why should a Nigerian go outside
Like export his brain, body and life for 750 USD per month

If the guy got brain

He can do that 750 USD comfortably here exporting only the soft side of his skill
Not himself as a whole

Better look for some other European countries than a place like middle East for work
.if they're paying wages as in weekly .. i don't think that's low ..

If the company will take care of your accommodation and transport then I think you should make that move. However, I hope the accommodation they will put you will be conducive as most companies provide hostel-like accomodations where 3-5 people live in a room and about 12 people in a 2 bedroom. I hope that's not the kind of accommodations they will provide you. Ask them what kind of accommodation are the providing and how many people will be living in the room / apartment with you. If you are no more than 2-3 in a studio apartment, then, I think it's worth it. The bulk of cost of living in that region is accommodation and once that's settled, then, other expenses like food and other communication cost are cheap. I hope they will be responsible for utilities but if not, you can still manage. I wish you all the best. Cheers!

Most importantly, be sure the company is legit and don't owe their staff as many companies owe their staff 3 to 4 months' salary.

I wish you all the best. Cheers!

Did you say 1.3m? That salary is extremely low, equivalent to less than $900. Considering the cost of living, that amount might not be sufficient. I strongly advise you to conduct thorough research before making any decisions."
My brother don't say what you don't know
He can use 500sar for feeding a month and send back the rest to Nigeria. A month he can save up to 1M .

Can he save up to 200k in Nigeria with his current job?

I have some friends there. They have been inviting me to come forever. Talk to those that have gone on a pilgrimage. I heard its a beautiful country. I wish I had made some move while single. Do not let the chance pass you by. It may open several many doors. Just be honest, diligent and prove yourself worthy.
