The suspect accused of plowing a truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street early Wednesday morning has been identified by a law enforcement source as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar.


Police fatally shot him after the attack, which killed 10 people and injured 35.

The source said Jabbar was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck, and authorities have said he was dressed in military gear.

As I suspected, he was a Muslim, and this appears to have been a terrorism-motivated act. Reports indicate that he is a homegrown terrorist( born in the US according to the reports out there, lived in the US, in the end still got radicalized by Islam)

Those attempting to spin the narrative on that propagandist's thread, WriteerNg claiming it was not a Muslim who committed the act or that it was random, are now proven wrong. I believe he wasn't alone in this.

This attack only serves to reinforce my previous statements. There is an urgent need to address the threat posed by Islamic extremists, particularly in the West. Now, we cant stereotype all Muslims worldwide based on the Terrorist attacks, can we?

The American-sponsored terrorists are finally coming home to roost. The United States armed these so-called ISIS and sent them heavy weapons to fight against the Assad government in Syria.

Now, that Assad is gone, the same ISIS is starting to move into the US to kill Americans.

The funny part is that the US and their lapdogs here on Nairaland won't attribute the US giving weapons to ISIS with Islam but once ISIS starts to bite them back, they will say the ISIS terrorist did it because of Islam.

Civil servants are a curse everywhere. The sidework where the crowd was marching in celebration was recently paved. The cement barricades that are normally present to prevent cars from riding on the sidework was removed by workers and not replaced immediately. Had those barriers been in place like they normally should, this attack may not have been successful.

An investigation is already in progress and the government officials responsible for that failure of oversight will face consequences.

The attacker used a rented car and had some kind of bomb in his truck. It is not clear why the bomb did not explode. He choose an EV truck which is heavier than an ICE truck in comparison. He planned to crush as many people to death as possible.

Where in the report does it say that he was provided a weapon by the US government? Blame them everyone but not yourself. Still doesn't change the fact that you need to look inward. The US have aided various allies but you don't see them committing Terrorist attack all over the world. Again, why do we always see these trend amongst Muslims?

The reality is that ISIS's brutal ideology and tactics are what determine their victims' innocence, not their nationality. The US has consistently condemned ISIS's atrocities, regardless of the victims' nationalities.

Back to the issue of weapons. The US provided the Iraqi military and the Syrian Democratic Forces, in an effort to combat ISIS. Up till today, there is no evidence to suggest that the US has directly armed ISIS. How can you arm something you are fighting against? 😂
