In the early hours of Monday, July 15, 2019, at about 11.30AM a final year student of the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) was murdered by suspected cultists inside the school premises of the CRUTECH Calabar campus. The incident happened at the old Engineering block, Calabar Campus.

Findings conducted by Brainnews has it that the murdered student is popularly known as James and ‘Jay’ Real on Facebook, he hails from Abi Local Government, but grew up in Ogoja, Cross River. Until his untimely death, he was a 500-level student of Engineering in the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, Calabar Campus.

The victim, far back in April is believed to had conserved the premonition of his unfortunate death.

According to his last Facebook post, on April 14, 2019, at about 12:45pm, he wrote;

“You can’t fool or kill a man who double checks with God about everything…Focus on your Hustle and stay Winning”. It is uncertain whether those who shot and killed the deceased, knew he had not “double check(ed) with God”.

As at the time of this report, four suspected cultists has been arrested in regards to his death.
