ufotunang:Yes ooooooo Before 1999, everywhere in Lagos was bush. No single development until 1999. Everything you see in Lagos was built from 1999 - 2007. |

lilachiever:Costain to ikeja used to be 400-500 about 2yrs ago 2 yrs ago Costain to CMS went from 200 to 300 and even 500 on bad days, I wonder how much it will be on similar bad days now. |

TOPCRUISE:The Agberos, nurtw, Lagos house agents, Omo onile, etc. don't feel these hikes, as all their burden is added to the charges that responsible people are being forced to pay! |
| Re: Crazy Transport Fares In Lagos by SamuelLoch: 7:29pm On Jan 01, 2025 |
Update: CMS to Costain is not N300. Previously N200, now N500. Some days ago, it was N1,000. |

Some of the figures are exaggerated though. I commute some of those routes on a regular basis. Mainland precisely. I paid 1k from Badagry to Mile 2 this morning. Conductors will size you before they give you price. Me and you can enter motor from the same bus stop and pay different prices. That's Lagos for you. But still, transportation fare is on the rise. |

TOPCRUISE:Where is the lie in that, since T-Pain has failed to deliver on the promise of crashing fuel price ![]() Was the price not N87 under Jonathan and PDP when minimum wage was 18k? This was when loquacious Fashola wailed for a reduction in price as part of his campaign for APC change that is now showing us shege. Deltafirstson: |

femtex007:Is that why we allow T-Pain to squeeze us out of more taxes for the opportunity of buying presidential jet, yacht, Escalade, SUVs for himself and other people in his a-looter administration ![]() [quote author=NLCreator post=126854133]Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly. There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers. Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million. The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”. While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use. “Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said. “Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office. “So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.” Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future. https://www.thecable.ng/theyre-for-official-use-obi-defends-purchase-of-n160m-suv-for-lawmakers/amp ] |

Best bet, is to stay where you work from Mondays - Thursdays and come back home on Fridays evening to avoid pocket sapping transport fare. If you know you can't stay where you work, go get a bicycle and commute in peace. If you're earning N200k - N300k, nah transport fare go finish you, coupled with the traffic jam wahala. In short, how many people earns up to that amount in Lagos as salaries? Lagos is not for the faint hearted...Why not relocate to a more friendly and economical state to have peace of mind? Cheers! |

Elusive001:That's not true! I was born in Lagos in the 70s and Lagos was already developing. No bush as perceived. I went to primary and secondary school and everywhere was already running. |

TOPCRUISE:N50 increment in fuel price will translates to N200 increment in public transport in Lagos. I've never seen a city so unorganized in my life, the government have no single control of the transportation system in Lagos... It's control by agberos and drivers. As of 2020 Lekki phase 1 to Costain was N200, today is 1k with abeg. |

Profiteering is silently doing more harm than the removal of fuel subsidies. While we are quick to sentimentally blame leaders, we often overlook the greed of the followers |
