SINisSIN:
I don't trade anyhow alts. For instance, I entered Pepe at 0.000009. I don't think Pepe will see this figure this season again and this was when BTC dips to around 50k.

It's my personal trading strategies because I don't trade everyday. If BTC looses -15-20% and you enter any of the top 50 alts, it might not be the best entry but it will be very close too. No one can get the perfect entry but you can get a good entry.
you're right

@sweetveek, instead of throwing insults, why not come up with a better argument? Since when did a potential pullback become ‘bad news’ in investing or trading? Pullbacks are opportunities for smart investors.

Discussions like this are meant to exchange insights and not insults. Let’s keep the conversation respectful and constructive.

i didn't insult you na, i was just joking but pull backs/correction will affect how high a coin would pump in a month, imagine a coin thats supposed to pump direct from 1$ to 10$ in a month, bcux of bt.c correction, it would pump from 1$ to 3$ then retrace to 1.8$ before it starts going up again unlike the one that got to 3$, then accumulates on that 3$ bcux there's no dump in btc price before it continues its uptrend to 10$. I don't know if you get the point

if theres a correction in December, i wait till January and observe if the candlestick will be bullish. I don't buy in that December no matter how low it goes. The correction that happened last month, i didn't even dca, but if i notice this January is looking bullish, then I'll add to my portfolio

Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by SINisSIN(m): 7:22am On Jan 02, 2025
Most times, traders perform better with their personal trading decisions because it is always from their trading mistakes and experiences.

Chikacha:
My greatest mistake is that even though I carefully studied and followed the circular movement in the previous cycle, I still doubted it. In real-time, I would second guess myself, change my decisions multiple times, and ultimately lose track every single time. Interestingly, the places where I decided to stick to the historical patterns are currently performing better than the points where I deviated and made changes.

The second mistake I made was swearing off leverage entirely. It took me some time to realize that a properly managed 3x leverage position has a low risk of liquidation. To avoid leverage, I worked over 2,000 hours of overtime at my job and used the earnings to buy crypto with cash. Fortunately, it took just one trial for me to realize the flaw in my approach.

My key lessons are to remain open minded and to trust historical patterns. I am now documenting what to expect in future cycles and noting events that are likely to repeat themselves. For example, during the year of the halving, people often sell around Christmas to buy gifts and to log losses for tax purposes, which causes volatility. Therefore, the best time to take a 3x leverage position on a solid project would likely be the first week of January in the following year (like now). And the direction is almost only up.

undecided undecided This particular leverage calculation is the only concept I'm still yet to fully grasp on crypto till now even after watching different videos on YouTube about it. Haven't found a fully explicit one on it yet.

I trade a very short time frame, majorly the 30/15mins timeframes, so I believe leverage should be adjusted according to your stoploss, just like position sizing kinda thing.
So leverage used doesn't really matter as long as one already had a predetermined total loss amount/exit price before entry.

understanding isn't that difficult, to know your liquidation price from your leverage, divide 1 by the leverage and multiply by 100 e.g if you're using 5x leverage,1/5=0.2*100=20. when your coin dumps by 20% from your entry price, you get liquidated.

I suppose you understand how the margin works too, thats the amount you need to open a position

The way i am anticipating the next bear market eh, i am bagging lots of Ton at $3 hopefully.

Ton utility is just too much for it to have an ATH of $7.9.

But for this bull run, i am futuring $Sol, love how it recovers quickly.

Then subsequently, i hope to do those Radium/telegram bot trading, at least a man cannot be unlucky for 365 days. Plan to deposit $30, then share it into 5 coins of 50k marketcap. At least, one of them just needs to 10X and then we go again.

2025, we go hard or we go hard. Long live Crypto

Check by the side of your trading app in futures or in spot when you want to place a trade

There is a calculator section that helps to calculate the loss and the intended leverage you want to play with it!

You have to fully understand how the system works before you place a trade!

hmmm.
In 2021, if anyone told u doge would x18, you would not believe .. I bet you would talk about same MC.
There was a time btc was trading at 1000$, if anyone told you btc will hit 100k$, you’ll not believe.
At the beginning of this bull run, most top predictions I saw for btc was 75k-83k. Wetin btc do? E shocked everyone.
In crypto, anything can happen.
If doge was to be a stock , it would be ranked around 450 or so. 49b$ is nothing in the grand scheme of thing.

Where the money will come from I don’t know, but if we go buy its historical performance ,
x5 from here is just 245b MC and 1.55$ per doge.
Wait self, are you saying doge will barely top its last ATH? How is that even a bull run , no let me change am for u o? grin something wey do 5000% and 18000% previous bull cycles na him go come hard am to do 500% when I’m heavily investedhuh? grin

Although I’ll be selling 60% the day doge hits 1$.

I go use the money buy something wey my eyes go dey see forever grin..

You've already answered your question.

When btc dumped to 90/92k, by how much percentage did your alts dump? Divide 100 by that percentage to get your safest leverage.

If the MDD in your portfolio was 50% then your highest leverage should be 2x. If the MDD you experienced was 25% then you can safely trade with 4x leverage. If the coins in your portfolio had a MDD of 10% when btc dumped to its lowest, then you can safely trade them at 10x leverage.

Another method is to use a risk to reward ratio. If you want a 1:2 RR ratio, then you can risk 1% to make 2% gains. You will need to do this in isolated mode not cross margin mode and you can trade with 100x leverage. After 1% DD you will be liquidated and that will serve as your SL. If you are not liquidated you can bag the 2% profit you targeted. You only need a win rate of 42% to become profitable with a 1:2 RR.

DD = draw down
MDD = maximum/highest DD

$1 profit is better than loosing

Fun fact!

Did you know that if you add $10 profit to your trading capital at the end of the trading year, you’re more profitable than 80% of traders

Yes, we need to hold EMA10 on 12hr TF as support for upward continuation.

If we lose 97k then it's back below 94k (EMA100).
If the reclaimed 97k holds we can look forward to another attempt of the 100k resistance.

margin is the amount you need to open a position e.g if you want to trade a coin worth 5000$ at a 5x leverage, you'll need 5000$/5= 1000$. So you need to have atleast 1000$ b4 you can trade 5000$ worth of any of your coin at 5x leverage.
