This annoys me to no small measure. Nairaland's UI needs to be declared a state of emergency. The only good thing Nairaland has going for it is the legacy of being one of the first online forum in Nigeria.

Guy Templates can be modified, na Human being create am.

Everything he's gonna do here is front end, if u challenge me, personally I go do am present am to SEUN no big deal..

There are many ways He can do this, last last let's view all comments under a post.. simple.

If it was possible, he would’ve done it since. That he hasn’t so far means he can’t and he isn’t ready to employ someone else to do it.

It started off being powered by Simple Machine Forum (SMF) https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php and has kept SMF's flat forum structure so it will be a big job to modify the back-end database to add such a feature to the front-end

We'd probably have to rebuild the system from scratch to achieve that.
For now, you can use your mentions to see who quoted you.

Sometimes wen u see comments like this u are not surprised y africa is like this, In africa when u critique someone, people think u dont like the person or u dont have any right to talk about the person.

I critiqued SEUN constructively people that should be supposed programmers are telling me "wetin concern me" grin

very funny, they dont even think if solution is possible, no be person like u create the platform.

Pls this is a programming section we should be thinkers here and problem solvers, what i have said now, someone can take it as a challenge , do it as a plugin, test it and if successful, sell to the creators even SEUN will be interested, do u not see how word press is developing more and more with enough plugin extension.

Nigerians pls lets think mre and be more creative, nothing should be impossible for u as a developer, keep on improving.

@SEUN thanks for answering me, infact u have made my day answering my question, u no wat I believe u used smf to develop this forum.

As work never dey serious for me this year, I WILL TAKE IT UP AS A CHALLENGE...if i can do it i will update this topic with what i have done.

Kudos to u SEUN, U a great guy and Nairaland is the first website i first open on my daily...u can only get better..wishing u a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025

I discovered Nairaland is no more run on SMF, if not i would taken up the challenge....seems its python now, I assume Django....

since its custom built, e no suppose hard to do, as I said put a link on a comment, it can open in a pop up to show all those that commented under u simple.

SEUN should have guys that do these for him, add custom features, it can be implemented in yr localhost, when stable push to server... no big deal.

Well na SEUN be boss, I just give my little opinion.

Nairaland is now custom-built platform but has kept the flat forum structure of Simple Machines Forum (SMF) it first started with.

Ok as promised I did something about this and came up with an mini forum to demonstrate the process, if this can be implemented in Nairaland, it will go a long way in making users view comments conveniently.

It's easy to implement in a new forum application and much easier using AI, but Nairaland is an existing forum application with millions of posts and comments stored in a NoSQL database so like Seun has said this will require developing from scratch or from my view this will require a very big modification to the codebase
