Pesin carry cutlass to do armed robbery, to kill people and take away their valuables, but people saying he stole fowl.

What if the people he robbed don die or they are your own family members.

This is why criminals get away with crimes in Nigeria..

Something is fundamentally wrong with the judiciary. The judge who passed that verdict should be sent on an immediate retirement.
The Judge has been retired a long time ago by NJC. He was quietly retired from judiciary by NJC because of criminal act he committed in another case. Someone who was supposed to do jail time was retired and even paid all his financial entitlement.

The elites knows how to cover up themselves.

Naija na proper crime scene

he has retired already after involved in illegal deal with one bank or something else like that
Modified: The judge was forced to go on compulsory retirement on Dec 7 2023 by the National Judicial Council after being found guilty of granting a Garnishee Order Absolute against Polaris bank for the amount of money in a questionable manner.
He was said to have travelled to Lagos to visit the bank counselling and prostrated himself for him in his chamber on the issue of the Garnishee proceedings an action described as unprofessional.

At the end of the day… he stole and that should be condemned… not celebrated. We still have a long way to go in Naija… whilst I condemn in the strongest terms the death penalty sentence, I equally condemn charade…
A thief should be charged accordingly.... Not planting a Dane gun on him and charging him for kidnapping or terrorism - That's an institutional set-up.

Political thieves steal billions including pensions. Thousands of people die from the consequences of their embezzlement and yet they walk free.

On the other hand, we have a young man who steals a fowl and is quickly sentenced to death.

What that tells me is there's something fundamentally wrong with Nigeria. The system is irreparably broken.
The guy and his friend were innocent. It was a case of personal vendetta from a powerful uncle.

And u believe any sane man would pass such judgement on fellow human being? The guy was charged for harmed robbery in which a person died in the process. Stealing of fowl is just one of the count charges leveled against him.
Who die no get name? If he actually murdered someone, would the police be demanding a paltry 30k ?

The judge is a eeeediot
he was not sentence just for stealing the fowl, it's because he was holding cutlass with him while stealing. Stealing while arming with anything that can kill another attracts maximum penalty
