I don't know if it's just me, but the AC in my Honda Accord 2013 doesn't chill as much as I hoped it will.

It's quite OK when the weather is cool like early in the day or late at night, but in the afternoon, you barely feel its coolness.

Any idea what could be responsible? I'd already topped the gas, and yet, it's the same.

Also, the recirculation button doesn't work. I was told I needed to change the control panel, but when we tried some other replacements, it still didn't work

First of all It isn't advisable you top up gas,the best is to drain all the gas in the system and refill properly.

You are mostly likely having refrigerant issue,pls go and refill the gas in your car properly.
Pls make sure they refill the system base on manufacture prescription. Your car will take atleast 500/550 gram of gas.

You have low refrigerant in the system

Pls i have same issues with my camry, i reside here in PH and have been searching for the right place to fix my camry AC system in addition to vacuuming it....please where did you vacuum and get yours fixed?

Thanx to all that contributed to profer solutions to my AC issue. I'm delighted that I finally solved this issue by bleeding off the refrigerant and vacuuming my AC system of air and moisture.

I pulled a vacuum on the AC system for 30 mins after bleeding off the entire refrigerant. I put in new refrigerant without adding oil (technician tested my AC system for lubrication and certified oil level ok). So I did a test run for two days now and my AC system is performing exclently. No more epileptic cooling.

Compressor no more delays to kick in. It kicks in immediately after switching on the AC button and cold air starts blowing immediately. Compressor is now performing the way it should.

Lesson learnt:

Foreign substances like air, moisture, dirt e.t.c can go a long way in causing a clutchless AC compressor to malfunction and if preventive maintenance is not carried out in time, it may cause serious damage to the compressor as this compressor is super sensitive to foreign substances in an AC system.

I'm happy that I took this step on time before serious damage to my AC system components. Gracias to you all!

Two months after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed that the AC was not cooling effectively. I took it to a technician, who informed me that the refrigerant level was low. He refilled it, and the AC started cooling properly again. However, two months later, I experienced the same issue. The technician checked for leaks but found none. After another refill, the AC worked fine, and I had no further issues for a while.

Sometime later, I noticed that the floor mats on the driver's side and the rear passenger side were getting wet. Upon consulting the technician, he discovered a blockage in the AC drainage system and fixed it. The AC worked perfectly after that, and I enjoyed it without any problems until three weeks ago.

Recently, I noticed a new issue. When starting the car, the AC would not cool at all. However, after driving to my destination and restarting the car, the AC began cooling again. This pattern repeated itself: the AC would stop cooling whenever I stopped and restarted the car during trips.

I returned to the technician, who confirmed that the refrigerant level was sufficient. He attributed the issue to the compressor, suggesting that I switch to a manual system to resolve the problem. However, I prefer not to make this change.
