Hello Sir, I have a Opel Astra 2000 model and I've been having problems with the compressor for sometime now. I've changed several compressors & even condenser but gas keeps escaping from the compressor. I was told it's a common problem with Opel brands & now my AC guy us suggesting using compressor from a different brand (Peugeot) and constructing a seat for it.
Please what do you suggest I do?

I will advice you use is own compressor.when you buy the compressor tell your technician to take it to people that repair compressor so that they can help you change the O-rings in between the compressor before fixing,or you buy a new compressor.

The overheating issue might be your radiator fan or blockage inside your radiator.
Once your compressor start having low pumping,I will advice you replace it.

Car in distress is a 2004 Toyota corolla, bought Naija used in June to use for Uber, discovered it had AC issues,it was blowing cool but passengers at the back wont know there is AC on...Lol.... refilled up to 3 times by 3 different guys until I was introduced to another technician in Ladipo who after dismantling the compressor and condenser, saw that the condenser was blocked and had damaged the compressor, I bought another compressor(used though) had the condenser flushed and blown,fixed another filter(the white stuff in the condenser) and the technician refilled the gas said 'carry go" with all assurances and voila..AC was blowing cold..I handed it over to the driver for Uber. Just last month the driver started complaining that the AC was only cool in the evenings but in the afternoons when its hot, the AC has no impact. Now the AC just blows cold air but its not chilling 'mortuary standard' so basically when the weather is hot, its utterly 'useless".
What could be the problem? Is it that gas that was refilled in July has already ran out? Does gas gets depleted like that with constant usage?PLEASE HELP!!

You should have installed a new condenser and did a vacuum before refill.

Check your cabin filter.if it's very dirty replace it.
If the cabin filter has been removed your evaporator coils block.
