Good day sir. I have a corolla 2003 and the AC vents are too dusty. Please what do I do?

Clean up the vent and always make sure the recirculation button is ON.

Emphatic NO. even the manual will tell you that is for a temporary boost. That is not meant to be on all the time.

Pls stop comparing Nigeria to other countries our environment is very dirty.so many things aren't properly controlled.
The only time you need to put the recirculation button off is when you park your car and the weather is very hot.
But always remember to put it on when ever you are driving if you really need your car to be cooling proper and also to provent yourself from unnecessary smells around.
Some cars are controlled automatically once you put off the car the servo motor opens the recirculation door automatically.

PLS REMEMBER THIS IS NIGERIA

I'm not sure how being in Nigeria affects the facts started above but do you. Pushing your compressor harder and affecting gas mileage to avoid dust is a little bass ackwards to me but do you.

He is very correct. When you drive past a trailer with 100% emission into the ecosystem. How do you control this. The AC circulation button helps close up the flap from the inside underneath your dash so as to prevent ram air from entering into your vehicle

It's meant for short bursts like the scenario you stated not to be used all the time is what I said.

The recirculation switch needs to be ON all times because of our environment.

No it doesn't. Mine isn't. I only use it when needed. My car has been here for 3.5 years and no issues. Y'all create most of your car issues on your own. Even China and India don't need it on all the time. That reason exactly is why there are so many AC issues in Nigeria. But more money for AC shops I guess.

Like I said earlier, y'all do you and we'll do us.

I think it being on or off is a matter of personal preference. The recirculation button is switched of when you need fresh air Into the passenger cabin of your vehicle. This usually comes as a trade off to the cooling time particularly when the you want your cabin to be cooled quickly. If for any reason you encounter a smoky envoirment ( typical of some diesel engines in some trucks in Nigeria), the recirculation button becomes a useful tool as once it is switched on, the flaps allowing air coming from outside is closed and air withing the cabin is then reused. Most people like leaving it on to get the best cooling effect of the car's AC.

How does this cause AC problem. Far from it. Study the environment well by then you would be able to know what kills AC in naija

Hi Mosbus- i have been looking for you based on recommendation. i just got a tokunbo Honda accord 2008 ike 2wks ago. the AC cools on the passenger side (although not as i want it to) than on the driver side. i havent topped the gas since i bought it. people said they usually reduce the ac gas before importing the cars because of explosion. dunno how true that is.

please what do you suggest? i was already planning on buying R134a andi thoought i should ask for your opinion first.

please assist.

Morning,
I have a Camry 2009 2AZ
I have been having this issue for a while now.
Everything seems fine but when I switch on the AC idle drops around 520RPM and car starts shaking even when I switch to park or neutral I still feel the vibrations.
Car surges once in a while when at stop with AC on.

Low refrigerant in the system, check for leakage before refilling.

Good day bro.
My Ford Galaxy 2002 model had a leaky condenser and a leaky valve after which it was replaced and gassed. It worked well and after about 2 weeks, it stopped cooling and blows hot. What could be wrong. I read online that its receiver/drier should be replace every 2 years. I have never done that cos I just bought it 2mths ago.

Where is your location?

As you have been told, the a/c system is low on refrigerant. That is the most likely reason for the symptom you described.

If it is a dual zone a/c system, different temperature settings between driver's and passenger's side is another possibility.

If you look and find no leak in the system, beware of the kind of refrigerant you use to 'top' up. There are so many inefficient ones out there.

I recommend that you pull vacuum on the system first before you refill with original r134a. After pulling vacuum, watch for about an hour to see of it doesn't lose the negative pressure (if the system gains pressure, then there is a leak). If pressure remains negative and constant after an hour, there is not likely to be any leak. Then charge system with refrigerant.

Cheers

Thank you MOSBUS.

No more rough idle, no more jerking at stops.

I'm really grateful.

Buy UV dye oil and inject it into the system before you finally conclude.you might be having leakage on the fitting or compressor oil seal.

Afternoon bro
I drive a 2003 Toyota Camry. Noticed reduced cooling on the drivers side vents. Took it to an AC technician in Lokoja. He checked for leak using soap and water in the engine bay without finding one. He concluded that I had to change the compressor and evaporator. I need your advice please before going ahead. Thanks

Hi Mosbus, My Hyundai i10 is two and half years old and my mechanic said the compressor is leaking and it must be replaced. What are your thoughts on this? Can't some work be done on the compressor ?
