I am not judging, just stating the obvious. Most news outlets where I have seen the story are sticking to the same scanty narrative. Even the headlines adopted by these channels don't tell the true story. They all made it appear as if the bishop went to settle an ongoing marital dispute at the woman's house. But when you read down, you would suddenly see claims of going to visit and pray for a sick person.

I am not judging, but the account has so many holes. If truly he went to visit and pray for an estranged wife, he flouted simple ministerial ethics that a man of his status should never take lightly. Categorically, I can tell you that that was not his first visit to that house. He must have been previously warned by the bloodthirsty husband to steer clear.

Married women, estranged or engaged, avoid them as a single or married man. Most of them when faced with marital challenges, seek emotional support from anyone away from home. That's how women are wired. Avoid a close communication with married women unless she is your biological sister. A simple warning.

There is nothing wrong in a pastor visiting a female church member that is not feeling fine without asking for permission from the husband, what is wrong is going there alone. If he had gone there in the company of his wife or with another known adult female church member, issue of suspicion would not have come up
