Joebie:perhaps not qualifying for AFCON was enough to allow the coach go, they could have given him more time possibly who knows he could have qualified them for the World Cup like Angola did years back |

Samueltemi337:Those numbers are definitely poor. Not sure he has earned any rights to be compared with Yaya yet. Is he really the midfield messiah we need? |

Philosopher1979:Thank you....Mikel in national team gave us good performances despite no goal or assist with Chelsea....Uche Christanus I watched is not about goal or assist but a player that closes spaces and give passes with ease even in difficult situations. |

AndSunGorilla:Just too early and pls how many goal and assist Iwobi had for Arsenal youth team before he made his debut for eagles.....we just need to integrate some promising young players into the squad. |

AndSunGorilla:I have watched more than 50% of Getafe matches this season and I can beat my chest and tell you that Uche is good and he plays exactly like Yaya. He is not afraid of holding the ball and because of his height, body shape and ball holding techniques, it's always hard to dispose him of the ball. His only problem right now is the Getafe coach that keeps playing him out of position. If the coach is not playing him as a nine, he is playing him as a false nine and those positions doesn't suits him. The few times he has been played as a CM, he plays far better than his peers. |

AndSunGorilla:Do we need messiah but players that would give us real balancing in the middle....Uche Christanus is one of the players |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Sugarboyy(m): 9:30am On Jan 04, 2025 |
Kog45:The Uche that I have watched thus far will easily slot into the Eagles midfield and would be a great addition |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Sugarboyy(m): 9:32am On Jan 04, 2025 |
Kog45:For Iwobi, I think whoever the Eagles coach is should play him exactly where he plays at Fulham. This guy plays so well playing for Fulham, but the opposite is always the case whenever he plays as an AM for the Eagles |

Plus Uche is a DM/CM not that kind of profile player who will be dropping goals and assists every match day. Happy New Year Egbon. Kog45: |

I reiterate, that every player should be played in the same position they play in their club and not in their preferred position. Iwobi needs to play on the right as a winger, while FDB plays in the advanced midfield role. Raph can take the CDM role while another CM, preferably Uche Chrisantus takes the CM or b2b role. |

For those people that always think that the Emeka that plays 7 in their street is better than some players they watch on TV, hope this gives you a little insight on how good the average professional footballer is. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEZ1NC0NGtM/?igsh=MWgzb2JldWx5ZmNveQ== |

Yes being played in a position you thrive in is ideal but if you're a tactician who knows his onions you will know how to use the tools (players) for every match situation not necessarily relying on the position they play in their club. Still remember how Bonfere Jo deployed Tijani Babangida to devastating effect against SA in the semifinals of the 2000 AFCON on the left side despite being a right winger. Mikel too that featured as a DM for Chelsea was mostly a CM and occasionally an AM for Nigeria. EEGA: |

Kog45:Uche has been deployed in an advanced role at his club this season, a lot of times even playing as a striker or 2nd striker. Yes we have heard is a natural midfielder but fact is, this season, he has been played more or less in a striking role. Yaya in his prime st Man City racked up lots of goals and assists when he played close to the box. If Uche had those stats playing as a DM, of course no worries but not when he is been played close to the 18 yard box. |
