Beautiful & Great job mr Sanwo-Olu & LASG.

Just few years back I use the old pedestrian bridge everyday going to office.

[quote author=Lanrelagboi post=133223946]UPDATE: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today did a walk-through commissioning and inspection of the Newly Constructed Alapere Pedestrian Bridge that was destroyed by a vehicle on the 7th December 2023

Mr Governor asked the community, both the Police and Local Govt to take charge of the bridge, which has now been made higher and also equipped with CCTV Cameras.

Why should that matter to you about whether what you read is true or false huh

edet19892015:
Unless you understand your role in society, you can never make any meaningful contribution.

According to the Greeks, they are three types of people on Earth,
1. The idiots,
2. The tribesmen, and
3. The citizens.

Studies show only 10% of Africans are citizens.
The remaining 90% are either tribesmen or idiots.

1. When the Greeks used the word "Idiot", they did not use it as a curse word.
Idiots are people who just don’t care.
If they sit for exams, they will cheat.
If they are in government they will steal.

An idiot does not care at all, if he eats bananas he throws the peels anywhere instead of putting them in a trash bin.

IDIOTS won't attend monthly neighborhood meetings. They won't pay security dues. They won't contribute to community development. Even when they see or know about something that will harm others in the community they won't report it. When they see/know/have something that will benefit their community they won't share.

In fact, Idiots don't care to register for or vote in an election, yet they complain the most. If they register to vote, IDIOTS will sell their votes for peanuts.

According to the Greeks, some societies have more idiots than tribesmen and citizens.

2. The next set of people are "Tribesmen", these are people that look at everything from the point of view of their tribe.

These are people that believe in you only if you are part of their tribe.
It can be terrible to have a tribesman as a leader, he will alienate the rest.

When the Greeks talk about tribes, it’s not just about ethnicity, they also consider religion, gang membership, group membership, party membership and even cult membership as a tribe.

A great percentage of Africans are tribesmen, because they view everything from the point of view of their tribes. They trust only their tribesmen

3. The last group are "Citizens".
These are people who like to do things the right way.
They will respect traffic light rules even if no one is watching them.

They drive within speed limits.
They respect the laws, and won’t cheat in exams.
In government, they won’t steal.
They are compassionate and give to others to promote their well-being.

Citizens often promote projects that benefit everyone.
The Greeks called this group "The Citizens".

Some countries have more citizens than tribesmen and idiots, others have so many idiots.

A tribesman can become a citizen through orientation.
And an idiot can become a citizen by training and constant enforcement of the law.

But things fall apart if you elect an idiot or tribesman to lead you if he has not been reformed.

Where do you belong? Are you an idiot, a tribesman or a citizen? Reflect on your life.
Reflect about your immediate community, city, state and nation.

Little complimentary efforts like this would enhance the development of this country......tinubu can't do everything.

That's a gov building pedestrian bridges in a federal road even fixing some failed portions and enhancing the aesthetics without waiting on FG.......obaseki took 8 years to do nothing but blame FG for the failed portions of sapele rd barely 5 Kms from his govt house with the failed portions barely 3 Kms in total....he would rather play politics and get hailed by those emergency lovers of Nigeria.

What is my own with Obaseki, when I have great Yoruba ọmọlúwàbí progressives to benchmark with?

As for playing politics with our wellbeing, direct yourself to Fayemi, Fashola and their band of power-hungry progreThieves.

Omooba77:
A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, said the protest that trailed the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was due to political interests.

Fayemi said this in his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.

The programme was attended by Jonathan, former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among others.

The PUNCH reports that on January 1, 2012, President Goodluck announced the removal of fuel subsidy and adjusted the pump price of petrol from N65 per litre to N141.

The decision sparked mass protests, tagged ‘Occupy Nigeria’ across major cities of the country.

The price was later re-adjusted to N97, after more than a week of protests.

Petrol price was later reduced to N87 in 2015.

Jonathan faced serious backlash for the fuel price adjustment, especially from leaders of the All Progressives Congress, who were then in different opposition parties, including the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressives Congress, All Nigeria Peoples Party, and All Progressive Grand Alliance.

Oil slump: Bring down fuel price immediately, Fashola tells FG ON DECEMBER 7, 2014

Lagos—As the global oil prices slid further downward, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, asked the Federal Government to review downward the pump prices of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS,  from N97 per litre in the country in tandem with the slump in world oil price. President Jonathan and Gov Babatubde Fashola of Lagos The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, had last Friday, on its website pegged the oil price at $66.27 per barrel.

Fashola who blasted FG for its reluctance to adjust the pump price of   PMS, made the remarks while addressing hundreds of youths at the  Lagos State and After School  Graduation Development Centre,  AGDC, IGNITE Employability Project 5, Ikeja. He lamented that Nigerians were not receiving fair treatment from the central government like others in oil producing nation. Fashola said, “Now we should be enjoying cheap fuel if the price of oil has dropped globally. Even as we import the product, a major component has reduced in price and while this has reduced, the pump price of fuel in the country still remains the same. “Then something is wrong. If the price increases in the country when the price of oil goes up globally, then it should also reduce when the price of oil drops.

“I understand that I am not an economist; they (Federal Government) are the economists. But I have some logic and common sense to ask critical questions. For instance, if one buy flour at N10 per kilogram, and the bread was sold at N1 per loaf. If the price of flour drops, the price of the bread should also change,” Fashola added. The governor, therefore, urged President Goodluck Jonathan led administration to follow the footstep of other countries that have reduced the pump price of oil products for their citizens.

Nice one from Sanwo Olu.
Though I believe Lagos generator more than all states in Nigeria hence the transformation but States like Delta should be witnessing high level of development like Lagos too but reverse is the case.

See what people are celebrating. Single lane bridge for a population like Lagos?

Come to Abuja and see quality projects. Several of such bridges are being constructed and delivered at the same time. Sanwo Olu step up your game. You are the one that should be doing what Wike is doing in Abuja in Lagos, and not the other way round. Plus it takes your contractors forever to deliver projects unlike Ambode.

The governor is really trying on infrastructure, the only place he's lacking behind is job, which we Lagocians needs so badly, he has failed to recruit and replace those that have retired or japa to another country..

I pray he remember that

Na your big head carry foolishness like cap

Many Igbos are thronging out of Lagos. Since it was announced that Otti is building a state of art shopping mall and plaza for Igbos in Abia, you people have had sleepless nights and sending your foot soldiers to torment trouble in Aba (something that wasn't happening before).

See how Lagos was almost empty this Xmas/New Year because of the mass travelling of Igbos.

You go cry tire.
