ogolemati:Listen.... I'm nobody's supporter but face reality and be both analytical and factual in your thought process. Does it mean your candidate won the national election because he won your state/region, please come out of this, its too early. |

You guys are intentionally looking away from Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s sins against Nigeria. He’ll pay guys, trust me he must pay. No amount of pity party or sentiments you whip up.. his crime is felony against a sovereign nation and life imprisonment is the penalty! We need to start looking at Nigeria as our own collectively and not be bottled to where we come from! |

Politics! When you are making 90% of your appointments from one region. Anyway people have longed stopped taking public statements of Nigerian politicians serious. This one also is rubbish word |

Tabithatim:President Tinubu’s remarks on the unity of Nigeria and the need for collaboration across all regions are noble on the surface, but they hit differently in the South-East, where actions often speak louder than words. While he emphasizes that "we are all members of one big family called Nigeria," many in the South-East are likely asking: Is this family really united when some members feel unheard, unseen, and neglected? The President’s acknowledgment of Governor Peter Mbah's strides in Enugu and his praise of Alex Otti in Abia are commendable. It signals that he’s willing to look beyond party lines for the sake of development. But for people in the South-East, such statements, though encouraging, can sometimes feel detached from their lived reality—where insecurity, marginalization, and economic stagnation dominate daily life. The mindless killings, kidnappings, and the imposition of fear through violent enforcement of sit-at-home orders have turned a vibrant region into a shadow of itself. Add to that the frustration caused by endless roadblocks and checkpoints, and you can see why many view "unity" as an ideal yet to be realized. The call by South-East leaders for the removal of these checkpoints isn’t just about convenience; it’s about the freedom to live and do business without harassment or inflated costs. Roadblocks have become synonymous with extortion and inefficiency, further alienating the people from the government meant to protect them. What’s needed is not just rhetoric about unity but actionable policies that address the region’s unique challenges. Investments in modern policing technology, as highlighted by the zonal leaders, are a step in the right direction. But it must go hand in hand with resolving the underlying issues of insecurity and addressing long-standing grievances—political, economic, and cultural. For the people of the South-East, true unity will be measured by tangible results: the freedom to move without fear, the ability to prosper without barriers, and the feeling of inclusion in the national fabric. Until then, words about unity, no matter how eloquent, may struggle to resonate amidst the stark realities on the ground. |
