Everyone and their dogs know that, the only question would be what the money saved will be used for. While some other presidential candidates would have used the savings to create an undying economic legacy for Nigeria which will help our youths and companies and institutions to grow, Nigerians are crying now because this particular administration has only people with a track record of wastage. The savings will be mostly enjoyed by French hospital management and London property merchants. I won't respond to your mentions, I wan go church. |

The vast majority of the remaining 35 governors who ate theirs will not be happy that Mbah's performance is helping expose their wasteful ways. Tinubu is right to ignore party affliation and commend Mbah above useless and clueless governors thinking party loyalty will sanctify them in Tinubu's eyes. |

The Governors are getting more than double their previous allocations, I got amused whenever some people making excuses for the Governors that inflation has eroded the value, I'm like the inflation does not erode their office budgets, personal estacode & foreign trips but it only affects infrastructure and welfare services The people get the kind of Government they deserve. Enugu got the one they deserve, who has sense to use the funds to deliver infrastructure. -Kiss the truth! |

zero8zero:Governor Mbah’s statement about President Tinubu’s efforts and the initiatives taken by his administration to drive development in Enugu is quite commendable, especially in terms of liberalizing the electricity sector, establishing the South East Development Commission, and pushing for a robust economic vision for the state. His goals for Enugu, like growing the economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion, certainly demonstrate an ambitious and forward-thinking approach. However, when we talk about the use of subsidy removal funds for infrastructural development, it’s important to acknowledge that while the removal of the fuel subsidy might free up significant funds for development, the effectiveness of this move largely depends on how these funds are allocated and managed. The Governor has pointed out the improvements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, but how well these projects are executed and whether they are truly sustainable in the long term will determine whether the promised transformation happens. The idea of freeing up funds for infrastructure is not new—governments often tout similar benefits when subsidies are cut, but there's a history of these funds being misused or not efficiently directed. The question then becomes: will the savings from subsidy removal translate into actual improvements for citizens, or will they be lost in bureaucratic inefficiencies, corruption, or mismanagement? It's easy to promise large-scale development, but the real test lies in transparent execution and whether there is proper oversight to ensure that the funds are being used effectively for the intended purposes. |

zero8zero:Governor Mbah’s praise of President Tinubu highlights a sense of optimism around the recent developments under the current administration, particularly with initiatives like the establishment of the South East Development Commission and the liberalization of the electricity sector. It’s clear that there’s an effort to bring more focused attention to regional development and infrastructure, which is an encouraging sign. However, the question of whether these initiatives will result in meaningful and sustainable progress remains. While the President’s policies, such as the Electricity Act (Amendment) and subsidy removal, have garnered praise for their potential to stimulate development, the true impact can only be measured over time. It's good to see that these initiatives are being framed as key pillars of economic and infrastructural growth, but the challenge is in ensuring that these reforms do indeed translate into tangible improvements for ordinary Nigerians, especially when it comes to things like reliable electricity, quality healthcare, and job creation. Governor Mbah’s vision for Enugu’s economy to grow substantially in just four years is ambitious, and while the focus on security, education, and healthcare is commendable, the broader question remains whether there are enough structures in place to ensure that these goals are realized. The continued success of any government depends not just on policy, but on its ability to efficiently execute these policies and navigate the complexities that arise—particularly when it comes to regional security and infrastructure challenges. The bold steps taken to curb insecurity in the region, like ending the illegal sit-at-home order, are promising, but it will take sustained efforts to maintain peace and ensure that development reaches every corner of the state. And as Governor Mbah pointed out, funding freed up through subsidy removal and other initiatives can indeed accelerate infrastructural projects, but there must be careful management of these resources to avoid misallocation or waste. In the end, while President Tinubu's approach to federalism and his government's policies reflect a drive for change, the implementation and long-term success of these reforms will truly determine if Nigeria’s development is on the right track. Hopefully, these strides are just the beginning of a more stable, prosperous, and inclusive future for the country. |

A governor of a ghost state like Enugu has no right to lecture us on what economics is, and even what is infrastructure. That state should be used entirely to rear cows, they don't have motorable roads, it is dusty and unclean, they all hang in the capital of the state which doesn't even have water. The dust in state is enough to build a mud estate, and not only that, they can't even provide electricity even just two hours light a day. Everyone in that state is useless for voting an idiot to be their governor, if we are checking indices of human development or infrastructural development, the governor and the people in that state has no right to comment on our national affairs. They have never seen what development or infrastructure is, and have never built one to give us advice on how to go about building one. They should all shut up! |

Rubbish. Mr governor, You are talking rubbish Sir. Your Excellency Sir, you're not in touch with the economic realities on ground. The removal of fuel subsidy only freed up more funds to be looted by these thieves in power. Any Economic policy that doesn't put the welfare of the people into consideration is not only wicked, but evil and satanic. Same Tinubu fought Jonathan in 2012 when Jonathan wanted to do this. Tinubu led a protest against same. Is Tinubu not a hypocrite for condemning his predecessor for wanting to do a thing then went on to do same thing? I know what I'm going through due to this Tinubu-inflicted hardship. Since today, I haven't seen food to eat. No money. No support anywhere. Pls someone should in God's name help me cos I am weak at attempting to help myself without a headway |

Nigeria doesn't care about subsidy or no subsidy. They only care about how the price went from 180 to 1300. Stop the subsidy nonsense. Your government failed Nigerians. Even in the western world if fuel increase by over 600% the economy will be grounded. |
