Have you reached out to them to address the issue? Mine is a bit complicated, and I’m not satisfied with the explanation they gave then. I noticed my balance stagnated for several weeks in November, but then it increased significantly at the end of the month. However, it reverted back to its previous state shortly after. They stated it was a system error, yet the same thing happened again yesterday. I suspect that the system didn't apply interest during those days, which is why my balance keeps normalizing and reverting at the end of each month. But they won’t admit that. The difference is over 500k.
They did the same thing to me last year December ending to January beginning (This same period yours is happening) even when I was regularly checking my account. Infact I had a lot of back and forth with them that resulted in them sending me my entire account statement right from when I opened the account to try and convince me but they couldn't because that same thing made them alter how my statement is displayed on the app.

At the end, they'll still have their way after trying to convince or confuse you to believe nothing was wrong. Even though you clearly see that something is not right. Since then, I try to check my account daily and thank God it didn't happen this year because I already have all my evidence might have done more than just complaining to them this time. I kept downloading my statements and screenshoting my balances at intervals incase it reoccur.

I wonder why their system errors only happens to some selected accounts every December sha.

This is exactly what happened to me. They tried to gaslight me, saying the system erroneously paid interest twice, but the "error" didn’t align with my monthly earnings. And now the same "mistake" has occurred again this month. They sent me a statement too then, but I knew what I was saying because I check my balances almost every day. Since then, I’ve been keeping a closer eye on everything.

They accept both, depending on the one you have. However, if it's naira, the exchange rate will be Norrenberger's rate at the very day of your investment.

See account opening form attached.
How long does it take to get an approval from the stanbic Mmf after opening the account?

Yes, to a large extent but applied differently. MMF calculates simple interest on your current balance (capital) and prorate to daily and it accrues then at the end of each quarter it's either reinvested/paid to your bank account depending on your option during registration.

Chat me up if you need more clarity on mutal funds generally.

Hello all,

Please I need your inputs on this. Say you have #10m to invest, how would you go about it? Would you rather:

1. Invest all in Risevest real estate plan for a 11-12% annual return. Using the exchange rate of 1650, that's about $6060. 12% of that is $727 which is about #1.2 return in a year.

2. Invest all in Stanbic MMF for a 20-21% annual return, which is about #2m.

3. Putting inflation into consideration, I'd go for number 1 but leaving out a potential 800k in option 2 doesn't sound very wise to me.

If you have any other way you'd go about this please kindly share 🙏🏾
You could try Coronation Money Market fund at 25.28% which can go as high as 29% which is 2,5M annually

Compounding is automatic once u pick the option to reinvest your interest.

You can decide to top up the capital in your MMF at anytime you have money to invest from 5k and above. Interest always accrues on the available balance - capital at anytime.

Thanks. Is my original capital preserved like fixed deposit and tbills? And the interest rate is guaranteed at the year end?

@RonuMiscreant for MMF to qualify as low risk investment the first consideration is safety of capital. Any investment that capital is not preserved or guaranteed cannot be regarded as low risk.

Capital and interest guaranteed. However, interest
is daily valued not fixed.
One thing is guaranteed, no investor loses money invested in any MMF.

By the way I hope you have opened account already using the first link on my signature.
Sometimes MMF operations get clearer once you start operating an account.
Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 3:20pm On Jan 05, 2025
Deducted interest on Stanbic MMF

For those who got their last quarter accrued interest deducted from their MMF, check your bank account, interest are already being credited to customers registered bank account.

If you wish to opt out and want your accrued interest reinvested going forward, send a mail to customer care to give the desired mandate.

Coronation MMF is MMF managed by Coronation Assset management while Stanbic MMF is managed by Stanbic Asset Management.

The priciples and structures, regulations, and underlying assets of all MMF are the same.

Someone said above opay has transaction description issues. Probably your e account number didn't reflect in the description. You need to email & call support to fix it.

@Gadgetking this is an issue of funds identification, most likely your e-account number was not captured.
To resolve this, send your evidence of payment to customer care, you can also follow up with a call. Going forward any deposit you make and it goes beyond 24hrs to reflect in your account, and it's not weekend, kindly send evidence of payment.

For me, I don't use third party when it comes to mutual funds since I can open account directly with the fund manager.
Please I'm not saying Cowrywise is not legit.

Thank you.
