I once had a bad experience of a soup I prepared and the next day got sour. I later discovered that the meat I bought was spoilt but d idiot sold it to me without me knowing. Perhaps one of the ingredients you used was bad.

For remedy, slice a reasonable size onions and put while warming. It can only reduce the sourness cos d damage has already been done. Sorry...

Pour it away and make another one

Do people lick the spoon while cooking? That's gross. Once I lick the spoon for any reason, I wash the spoon before dipping it back into the soup.

Anyway, I'm seeing the oil is still floating. Oil on its own is a preservative so I'm surprised it is foaming. Op, add lots of ground crayfish and potash (ikewu). Warm very well and then leave the cover partially open till it cools, then cover it back. It will be almost as good as new

Add kaun/potash too, helps remove any foul taste.

I never hear or see where bangs soup spoil before. It’s an oil rich soup and I wonder how it got spoilt

back then my mum used to add a little potash to sour. It won't restore the original taste but it's better.

Na you do yourself na. You get fridge to keep it but no. The weather is very hot now so avoid cooking large meal without light or fridge.

Add palm oil, enough onion and recook without covering it.

If you have charcoal drop some big balls inside while cooking. Charcoals are good adsorbent

Sorry about your stew. I've had the same experience preparing banga soup with fresh catfish. I learnt the hard way not add the head of catfish in the soup, it makes it go bad fast. Did you use fresh fish in preparing this?

Next time, leave the soup/stew to boil very well after stirring, before bringing it down/turning off the heat.

When u r busy licking d spoon in d name of testing, y won't it spoil.....

Normally is not the raw charcoal you add to a sour soup but the ashes gotten from the burnt charcoal from firewood. Sprinkle justa bit according to the volume of your soup lol.

Then open your pot while boiling, omo the original taste go surprise you. Try this with any sour soup

I heard they use baking powder to fix it. A friend did that in my house. It happened that I used 24,000 to sponsor a soup-cooking project through my sister-in-law, unlike you, I don't know how to cook - Omo, na so I just got back from work and found the soup looking angry and showing signs of "about-to-go-bad". The anger in me had me thinking of washing it away, then a friend stopped me and used baking powder to remedy it. Not fresh, but not bad. That rage no even let me eat am again.

Drop a charcoal in the soup and warm till the sour tastes is gone.
You can also add your fish and veggies to reignite the real taste.
