It's pure stupidity I don't know how someone believe he can corner bar beach as his own property? No matter how long the Federal government will sure take over the beach front. The Landmark guy is just crying wolf. You can never claim ownership of a beach in the class of Atlantic ocean. For the fact that some family are claim beach area of Lagoons and lake doesn't mean that the real owner (FG) can't take it over at any time they deemed fit.

You still have your property but not access to the beach and you are crying wolf. The earlier he move forward the better. Else he should be made to face the music of contraventions.
Didn't you read the part that He BOUGHT the property, if they weren't selling it would he have bought it,

Make we dey get conscience for this country...if he was your relative would u be this insensitive or are you saying that you do not see the political motivation behind all this..haba Nigerians

The type of rubbish that T-Pain has been vomiting for Lagosians since 1999, with his magical master plan for making the people's IGR and other revenues disappear instead of employing government workers to do what Jakande did for just four years?

Four years before that undisciplined soldier overthrew our democratic institutions and locked Jakande up for corruption.
Baba, everything about you is government should create more jobs why not clamouring for infrastructure or incentives that will allow private investors to create jobs

30m dollars where exactly?..is it on the beach he doesn't own? As it is a fact that his building was not destroyed.

30 m dollars on that beach? Is he trying to con his investors?
You are right. He may be trying to swindle his investors and also swindle government.

I don't want to talk about this again as I have done enough analysis on this before. You know it is not in our character to be carrying out propaganda. Unknown to the public before this issue of Lagos Calabar expressway, there is a Court case on that beach. He has an ongoing Court case on that beach before FG came with Coastal Highway Project. That beach was not even there as at the time Bar Beach was still at Ahmadu Bello way. It was the recovery (reclamation) of the land from Atlantic Ocean that created that part of the beach.

I think those who sold the place to him have a case to answer. The Oniru family kept quiet since he started crying. He should go to Court let Oniru family come out to say how much they collected from him over part of the beach created by engineering processes of another company.

In as much as I salute his courage to develop tourism in Nigeria, I cannot support him because the benefits of Coastal Highway Project is 99% better than his usage of that portion of land created by engineering processes of another company that invested billions of dollar to salvage Lagos Island from being submerged by Atlantic Ocean.

I will advise him to negotiate with Government for land at Badagry axis. Badagry is the future.

Thanks. But the diversion here concerns Okun Ajah community alone not the entire road. Meaning the road will still pass through the reclaimed Landmark beach and revert to the previous route only when it comes to the Okun Ajah portion of the road.

The beach does not belong to you. The beach is a property of all Nigerians not any individual, just because they allowed you to use it does not make it your property.

I liked your statement - reclaimed Landmark beach. Who reclaimed the beach? There was a legal case over that land by those who reclaimed the beach land before this issue of Lagos Calabar expressway. He failed to tell Nigerians about that case .

He should go to Badagry. Badagry has kilometers of Beach Land

How was the $30 million spent?

Apparently, the most expensive asset demolished there is the swimming pool.

From the internet, the cost of a swimming pool is as follows:

Acrylic Pool ₦12,000,000 – ₦60,000,000
Concrete Pool ₦3,000,000 – ₦12,000,000
Fiberglass Pool ₦1,500,000 – ₦5,000,000
Vinyl-lined Pool ₦1,500,000 – ₦3,500,000
https://viscorner.com/costs/cost-of-swimming-pool-construction-in-nigeria/

Let's say each gazebo costs ₦500,000. There are about twenty of them there. That works out to about ₦10,000,000. I see three buildings. Let's put them at the cost of ₦20,000,000 each as at 2006. Assuming the swimming pool costs ₦80,000,000 to build + ₦10,000,000 for gazebos and ₦60,000,000 for building, that works out to ₦150,000,000. Using an exchange rate of USD$1 = ₦1,600; that works out to USD$94,000. Okay, let's use the exchange rate of the naira to the dollar as at eighteen years ago, since the CEO of Landmark claimed it was an investment made in 2006. Obviously, prices were way cheaper then. Using an exchange rate of 184 naira to the dollar, that works out to USD$816,000. Experts can argue for inflation and price fluctuations.

Clearly, the costing shows that the investment demolished is between 0.03% to 3.125% of the $30m investment claimed by the Landmark CEO. Of course, many bought it and ran with it. Didn't this same Landmark CEO claim that his $200million investment was in jeopardy?

At this time, the Landmark CEO owes evidence on how what was demolished amounted to $30million.

I raised some salient issues some 8 months ago as follows:

In saner climes, the Landmark CEO would be in jail for allocating government and public property to himself.
no, in saner climes the government will rather dig a tunnel, build a bridge, curve the road to match the beach instead of destroying a business environment that provides employment directly or indirectly to even 1000 people

Can a sharp cutlass cut anything by itself without someone making it happen?

What is the point of having infrastructure without government educating children and providing water to all households and businesses? Do you want investors to work with illiterate people in factories that have no public water supply?

This is why Lagos and black African cities are glorified ghettos.

A 45-year-old resident and father of three, Mr.Fatai Lamide told PUNCH HealthWise that no building in the community has toilet facilities.

The Oyo State-born mechanic said, “We don’t have toilet in this area, including our compound. This canal that you see serves as toilet to all of us living in this area. We defecate inside nylon and throw it inside the canal.

“For people that don’t want to use nylon, they have a special bucket that they use after which they pour it inside the canal too.

The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.

At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.

The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.

Only the one in Ikoyi is producing water, according to CAPPA.

Is provision of pipe borne water not an infrastructure by government?

The pipes and other machinery are infrastructure, but the provision itself is not. It is a service to provide utilities.
