Hmm!!, I Want To Understand More On Matthew 6;7-8 by Kingsempires(op): 10:12am On Jan 07, 2025
Matthew 6;7-8 ;

7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

I don't really understand this verse but my own understanding for this verse is;

How most of this present day churches pray. Like you will see some of the pastors or the church attendances if they pray small then they will start speaking something that not a single person can understand and say is speaking in tongues 🤔 I thought speaking in tongues is when like a pastor start praying once he start speaking in tongues he will not understand but some people there will understand. Like for example;

I had a story of a church a Jewish person attended the church and in the church when the started praying and anointing fall on some people the Jewish person was like what is all this mad, this people are praying to Jesus instead of God Almighty so doing the prayer the pastor saw how the Jewish man was not following up. The pastor meet the man ask he what is your problem the Jewish man replied " praying to Jesus is blasphemy instead of praying to God the one and only creator". The pastor ask him "don't you believe that Jesus is God? The Jewish man replied " I am a Jewish person I can never believe Jesus is God until I see proof. Immediately he said that a woman at his corner started speaking in tongues. Then the Jewish man ask the the pastor is this woman a Jewish person. The pastor said no. They the Jewish man said to the pastor " I can hear what her is saying. The pastor ask what is her saying. The Jewish person said that her saying "I am Jesus I am God I am Jesus I am God".

This speaking in tongues in my own understanding is like just This story. Just like speaking language that you have never spoken before to pass out message. I have heard many stories of speaking in tongues but this one I type here is enough to understand where I am going.

Today in some churches you will pray small prayers they will start making noise and be saying that they are speaking in tongues 🤔

You have mixed it up.

You wanted to be Catholic so this is where you see chanting 10 hail Marys, for 1 hour is a clear example of Mathew 6.

Then "die by fire" people also.

Now you mixed it up with iyoshima gbahigi people. These ones are performing another madness and deceits of falls prophets under the covers of speaking in tongues. Whereas, tongues means dialect.

But most people are still pagans so this coded jujuism is acceptable to them.

Chanting 10 hail Marys 100 times (Mathew 6) is not the same as deceiving people with mad performances they call speaking in tongues

What is your own understanding about Matthew 6;7-8 ?
The simply fact is that your religion of Christianity, a religion founded by the very same people whom Jesus Christ of Israel warned His disciples should never give that which is Holy to— the dogs aka non-Israelites— has no connection whatsoever to the person of Jesus Christ of Israel and consequently His Father, YHWH of Israel. You can never understand the religion of Christianity by way of Jesus Christ of Israel which it has no connection to. Rather, you can attempt to understand it by considering the schemes and many falsehoods put forth by them as a means of keeping their their gullible followers enslaved. undecided

No! Christianity refers to a religion that was created from its beginning by non-Israelites. Jesus Christ of Israel said non-Israelites CANNOT be given that which is Holy because they lack the capability of handling it. undecided

Matthew 7 vs 6 & Matthew 10 vs 1 - 10 & Matthew 15 vs 20 - 24. These are Jesus Christ's explicit teachings and commandments given to His disciples who all happened to be Israelites, and found right there in the same book you quoted from in your OP. undecided

Pagan don't pray in tongues, or can you count how many words are said and repeated in such prayer?

Jesus said don't keep repeating or chanting the same thing, which was a prayer pattern practiced by many, especially those who didn't believe that by saying it once they would be heard, so saying it many multiple times or even loudly in public would guarantee it's heard.

Well men make a lot of traditions and religion.

Don't know what fake tongues were used in the this example but going that they declare an error from the pit of hell that Jesus is god, it's understanding the performance of demons.

After all Saul prophecied even when possessed by evil spirits.

Our understanding is not what is not what is important what is important is the teaching from the Holy Spirit and if you have him? If you don't then do you desire him, and if you don't? You don't need to be asking questions that really won't benefit you in anyway because at the end of all knowledge it is salvation of your soul that matters.

And when you have the Holy Spirit, you have both understanding and salvation as long as you hold on till the end.

And it was also stated "to the Jews first and to the gentiles/Isreal is my first born". So who are the second and third borns?

Also the Holy Spirit took Philip to preach to an Ethiopian Is an Ethiopian an Israelite? Or the Roman whom Christ was going to his house?

Your days are numbered and your punishments is at hand.

What is the purpose of prayer?

Faithful servants of God in Bible times do pray to God but what exactly do they often pray for?

Personal prayers are always about the NEEDS of the one praying not WANTS.

NEEDS~ Things necessary for life e.g food, clothing and shelter.

WANTS~ Things we prefer which varies due to individual choices.

No single servant of God pray for WANTS in the Bible and when they pray for NEEDS it's about what they need to participate fully in pure worship.

So when Jesus was teaching the crowd that came to learn from him he said:

When you pray, do not act like the hypocrites, for they like to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the main streets to be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you. When praying, do not say the same things over and over again as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. So do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need even before you ask him. “You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth. Give us today our bread for this day; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.' “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" Matthew 6:5-15

Highlighted in blue shows what true believers NEED and it's the basis necessities of life for our daily living not UNLIMITED WANTS.

If each Christian is to meditate on what Jesus taught regarding prayer there won't be any need for show off {Matthew 6:5-6} or lengthy talks {Matthew 6:7} but simple and precise words {Matthew 6:8} remembering that God is the father of all creations so it's wrong laying curses on anyone be it friend or foe {Matthew 6:9} His Kingdom is the only solution to mankind's problems {Matthew 6:10} and things we need presently to cope until He decides to end badness {Matthew 6:11} all humans are imperfect so consideration is required on the part of each believer towards our neighbours regarding wrongdoing! Matthew 6:12-15

Speaking in tongues foreshadow what true Christians will be doing in our time as the GOOD NEWS will be made available in all languages that's why Paul said:

When what is complete comes, what is partial will be done away with. 1Corinthians 13:10

Today there is no language that true Christians haven't gotten members who are preaching and teaching about God's Kingdom. Act 1:8

Of course the modern day speaking in tongues has the backing of some higher intelligent beings {2Corinthians 11:14} but it's not for the same purpose God initiated it in the first century! 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 compare to Matthew 7:21-23

May you have PEACE!
