Soludo Not Against Nnamdi Kanu’s Freedom – Anambra Government by Edygrin(op): 11:40am On Jan 07, 2025
The Anambra State Government has reacted to allegations that Governor Chukwuma Soludo seems opposed to the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, as a way to solve security challenges in the state.

The state Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, addressed the issue in a press statement released in Awka, the state capital.

Mefor stated: “It has become imperative to address the misinformation circulating in the media space regarding Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s alleged reluctance to support the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This misinformation has been peddled by desperate opposition politicians who are intimidated by Soludo’s impressive achievements in office.

Contrary to the false claims, Governor Soludo has been actively working towards Nnamdi Kanu’s release, as he hopes that Kanu’s release will help restore peace and stability in the South East.

He has demonstrated his commitment to this cause through his actions and public statements. Notably, Governor Soludo visited Nnamdi Kanu at the Department of State Services (DSS) facility, where he offered to take Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on administrative bail and assured authorities of his availability whenever needed.”

Mefor further noted that the misinformation was being spread by desperate opposition politicians and other shadow figures, describing it as baseless, politically motivated, and intended to discredit Soludo’s administration.

“It is essential to look beyond the propaganda and recognize the progress being made, as well as the need for all to cooperate with the government to deal decisively with insecurity in the state. By working together, we can overcome our region’s challenges and build a safer, more prosperous future for all.”

The Commissioner also expressed concern over the hijacking of the Biafra agitation by criminals.

Governor Soludo is deeply concerned about the hijacking of the Biafra agitation by criminals. These individuals have turned the agitation into a lucrative enterprise, engaging in kidnapping, robbery, ritual killings, and other heinous crimes for ransom.

This development has not only undermined the legitimacy of the Biafra agitation but has also posed a significant threat to the security and stability of the South East region.

The hijack of the Biafra agitation by criminals has had severe consequences for the people of the South East.

The region has witnessed a surge in violent crimes, including kidnapping, robbery, and ritual killings. These crimes have not only claimed lives but have also caused widespread fear and insecurity among the population.

Furthermore, this hijack has undermined the economic development of the region, as investors are reluctant to invest in an environment characterized by violence and insecurity,” Mefor lamented.

I may not like Soludo, but Soludo cannot go against the release of our amiable leader.

The price of freedom is surely being paid by our darling leader thus affirming the statement, ' the price of freedom is steep'. Mandela was in prison for 27 years and came out to be the first black president in south Africa. Nnamdi Kanu case won't be an exception, though he won't be the president of the zoo, but I am sure and certain that he will be a citizen and a leader of Biafra republic. God bless south east and south south.

Why are almost all Biafra leaders/heroes are being picked like Ugu?

Jubril left nose, right ears are just purely waste of time and deliberate mischievous

Can Buhari still remember anything like sit at home or Nnamdi Kanu? He must have forgotten patapata.

A group which reasonable of people supported but eventually became a terror to the region.

Crying shouldn't make one to be blind

If you are indeed a headmaster, act like one without always sounding this way.

It doesn't make you sound smart

How can you make this ridiculous claim above?

I think Igbo leaders should gather and send a delegation to meet the president and Nnamdi Kanu and discuss a solution.

What is strange is people trying to blackmail the government by issuing statements to ask for his release. It seems they want their voices to be heard as calling for the release so that when it eventually happens, there'd be a public record that they "fought".

I think President Tinubu can consider it. But Kanu's kinsmen need to use a different approach.

This Soludo has always seemed like one of those renegade Igbo elites who can betray his race for personal political gains.

I'm not saying he is, it's just how I perceive him to be.

bro, soludo doesn't strike me like someone that can do that.

If anyone can do it, it has to be the Man that came third, and mysteriously came first with the help of the court.

Well your leader Nnamdi Kanu with his over paid lawyers are working hard for him to be released on bail under any condition and with a promise to be good law abiding citizen of Nigeria.I guess he expects others to pay the price for freedom but not himself that is why they are quick to deny BIAFRA anytime they are arrested.

Bro, you want to hear the truth, the South East leaders are not interested in requesting for Kanu's release.. They learned something from Ikeremadu's Germany treatment. Kanu is a threat to them

Clowns 🤡.
So the release of one confirmed IPOB terrorist cannibal monkey is the only solution to your criminal enterprise?

Release the criminal or not, kidnapping and armed robbery will still continue in the SE. Criminality is in the DNA of some people.

Asking Tinubu to circumvent the Judicial system to release a known terrorist has to be one of the highest form of hypocrisy from the loud mouth wailing wailers who love to cry about rule of law.
I guess rule of law should only apply to some and not all. Blind hypocrites.
Tinubu better not make that mistake, let the court system determine the case.
Namdiot coward Cownu should be tried and sentenced to death for his crimes against humanity.
This is a criminal who encouraged his brainwashed delusional retar@ded imb@cile IPOB terrorist cannibal monkeys to burn down Lagos , to go after Tinubu himself, to kill security officers and many other crimes against the Nigerian state.
Such criminal must be tried in a court of law.

Why should Soludo care?

Nnamdi Kanu is from Abia, Simon Ekpa is from Ebonyi

Yet UGM concentrated all their efforts in destroying Anambra, and Soludo should help them in turn?
