Why You Shouldn’t ‘japa’ If You’re Doing Well In Nigeria – Candy Bleakz by DyshApp(op): 11:58pm On Jan 07, 2025
Singer Candy Bleakz has spoken out about the growing trend of relocating abroad, popularly referred to as “japa.”

In a recent video, she shared thoughts on the challenges of living abroad, cautioning Nigerians to think carefully before making the move.

Candy Bleakz highlighted the harsh realities of life abroad, including demanding work schedules, high living costs, and harsh weather conditions.

She emphasised that the idea of “greener pastures” abroad is not always accurate.

The singer advised Nigerians doing well to reconsider relocating, warning the stresses and monotony of life abroad may not be worth it.

Candy Bleakz suggested that relocation should only be considered as a last resort, when opportunities in Nigeria are limited.

She emphasised that people often overlook the difficulties of living abroad, including the high cost of living, demanding work schedules, and lack of community.

Bleakz encouraged Nigerians to appreciate the benefits of living in their home country and to carefully weigh their options before making a decision.

She said: “Everybody is talking about Japa, japa, japa and talking about the UK, yet nobody is telling them about the price they have to pay. Did you tell them about having to work everyday from seven to six? Do you tell them about the cold, do you tell them about the bills? Or how hard it is to live.

Do you tell them about how people don’t greet others in the UK? people don’t go anywhere unnecessarily because of tickets. One thing I have now realised about the UK is the fact that you have to work like you’re going to to die.

I feel like it’s crazy, imagine working all your life just to pay bills. It’s just that there is peace in the country. I would advise that if you’re in Nigeria and you’re blessed and making money, don’t relocate here. It’s stressful and it’s boring. The only reason you should consider japa is if there is no hope for you in Nigeria. Even some people in UK want to go back home”.

Don’t let anybody lie you!

If you have saving and assets, sell it off and leave the country. Nigeria is heading nowhere.

I have a friend who sold all he has in Nigeria, and moved to the UK. He is currently changing diapers for adults and doing fine. Another one resigned from a bank in Nigeria and used all his assets and savings to Japa to US, hommie is currently lifting boxes at Amazon during the day and doing uber at night, and he is doing fine. You need to see their pictures on Facebook to confirm the big life they can afford.

You just need to be determined, in a space of 6 months , you should be able to recover all you sold in Nigeria.

Why imagine such nonsense when you can work to pay school fees instead and in a few years quadruple your earnings? Have you checked how much Nigerians in UK that you think have nothing left over after paying bills, sent home to their families in Nigeria just last year?

Stupid people invest in bills (which really is mostly the useless stuff they put in their mouth), while smart people invest in feeding their brains and mind instead so they can reduce their working hours and enjoy their life more.

I think the people you mention above are working hard to better their lives, while many are just too lazy to hustle for their's.

Someone who is earning 4 million naira a month in Nigeria (3000 usd) is richer than someone earning 10,000 Cad a month in Ontario, Canada.

With your 4 million, you are earning almost 50 million a year. A nice duplex in Enugu can be as cheap as 100 million. Your 2 years salary can get you a duplex.
A duplex in Canada is about 1 million cad. Your 120k cad a year will need to be saved for about 9 years to get you the same duplex.

Then there is the issue of community. You have a social life in Nigeria. It comes easy. In Canada, you have to make extra effort to have what resembles a social life.

Most successful Nigerians lived abroad for a while and came back. Think on it if you are a big person in Nigeria currently. The grass is not greener on the other side

Nigerians always want to eat their cake and have it back.
How do you think they got their system to where it is...by partying and having community lifestyle?
No wonder a lot criticized Peter Obi when he said he turn night vigil to night shift.
Our attitude towards work is not good.
People don't want to work but want to get paid for doing nothing and being unproductive.

My advice is for anyone that wants to japa should japa

If you ain’t rich: you will hustle and make your money
If you are consider rich: your eyes go peel small because you will have to do all basic things yourself.. no help from no one.. you will have to hustle for real as no white collar job is waiting for you anywhere unless you are an extraordinary expert in some certain field

In all, if you are super rich.. just stay in Nigeria and enjoy ur money while you go for visiting

No matter how well you're doing in Nigeria, please japa if you have the means.
All it takes is one bad government policy to ruin you.

Everybody who is dying to be known and has nothing reasonable to offer, they always talk about Japa. Tomorrow another human wit another RBG colored hair who has nothing to contribute and is desperate to be known will start talking about Japa, all trying to discourage people with good intentions that wants to explore other opportunities.
