Chelle's profile is not the best for the SE. This is a guy who put Mali in a bad spot in WC qualification. If his job is more of long term development, we should have just gone for Nsien.

These are Chelle's last games:

Let me carry on with my negativity while you keep praying.. some things don't make sense, if this is what they settled for after all the embarrassment.

Mali fired Chelle and eventually hired Saintfeit. Granted we could not pay Saintfeit at the time cheesy

Doesn't make any sense you get a coach with a poor WC qualification record to salvage our poor WC qualification position.

You can talk much about playing style as you like, but that's not what's going to give us WC qualification. The numbers doesn't look good for Chelle.

our administrators make decision for their belle first and you will still find people that will be praying and accusing logical people of negativity. Nigerians tire me.

We ought to be appointing coaches with great pedigree in past tournaments. Our greatest headache is not just qualification but doing excellently well in tournaments and you need coaches with well rounded experience in that.

How can you sack a coach who came second in afcon and later appoint another coach who crashed out in the quarter finals. And I see folks here talking about playing style. So we are still looking for tiki taka coaches abi. We no well at all! Kotinu!

Very sad to see many Nigerians rejecting Chelle not on the basis of his record but on his nationality and skin color. Racial inferiority complex really has a firm grip on most of us.

I think Chelle should introduce himself to the SE team and Nigerians in general as a Frenchman, not a Malian. That would help us believe he is capable.

what's his record?

My brother the immediate job any coach we appoint is to qualify us for the WC. Considering we did not qualify for the previous mundial that should be the top priority, though a tough one. If we want to talk about doing excellently well in the tournament proper, are we saying he is the best choice for the WC proper? Or should we say we hired him mainly for the next AFCON?

Our World Cup chances are too slim except a miracle, World Cup qualification aside is it chelle we should be going for even afcon? What the hell are we thinking. This is just too ridiculous, we are just giving the likes of amunike, sia sia, oliseh and their supporters more mouth cos honestly chelle no even better pass these guys. How can we go from paseiro, finidi, Eguavoen only to land finally with chelle, o wrong na!

MC Oran are currently 10th in a league with 16 teams 🤦🏿
TBH, the only thing impressive about the guy is that he is young...
I don't care about all this talk of him playing entertaining football with Mali at the AFCON.. his CV isn't impressive at all...
But of course, I hope he succeeds

CHAN is less than 3 weeks away...
I would have loved to see the duo of Ikechukwu and Ogunmodede continue with the team, but it will also be a good opportunity to see how Chelle can do

on a second thought 10th position isn’t bad for them, they’ve finished 13th and 10th for the last 2 seasons which makes current position on brand with the team

Who is talking of praying oga? A coach had just been announced. He had not held his first press conference so we can get insights of his plans, neither has a ball been kicked in a competitive match yet he is been written off. So many women on here.

Really surprised on how the narrative changed so quickly on Eguavoen. Not too long ago many supported giving him a permanent contract, now he’s barely mentioned here.

Is this Chelle better than him?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:37am On Jan 08, 2025
No logic in your reasoning. We could have as well appointed any coach for that matter, and your point would still apply.

I posted the last games of Chelle in charge and people are still arguing let him play first. WC qualifying record is poor with Mali. His record post AFCON is disastrous, and yet they say let him hold a press conference first. Why do we like gambling like this?

Someone born by a Malian father should introduce himself to me as a French man and I should take him serious

We joke a lot in this country

A popular football quote I have heard since when I was a child

A COACH IS AS GOOD AS HIS LAST GAME

He is definitely not Super Eagles material going by his records

Maybe he has agreed to be owed salaries like our Federation does
