Don’t worry by the time the eagles start struggling again we will all be back here to whine as usual

Again, I reiterate that the Mali team I watched at the Afcon were very good.

My money was on Burkina Faso vs Mali at the round of 16, I expected the Burkina babes to overrun the Malians easily but the result was different. The Malians totally outplayed the Fasos... Neat, tidy, beautiful football. I lost money but I was very impressed...

Against CIV, they played better than we did CIV. They even lost a PK to consolidate things when leading 1-0. It was after the subtitutions around 80 minutes mark CIV and the crowd turned things around. Same CIV turned things around against us in the final.

I'm throwing my weight behind Mr Eric Chelle. I woke up and saw the news and I gave a thumbs up.

Yesterday we wanted a young coach. We got one.
He is charismatic and will win over y'all skeptics very soon.

All in all, I see us improving so much...

Na this habit of seating in the seat of the prophet de kill many for here de go. Everybody can predict the future of a coach.

Struggling as per playing well with a coherent team or qualifying? Because I know the latter is an unrealistic expectation. It's like looking for the best "ludo player" to come and roll dice for double six. Mere vexation of spirit.

Make all this critics go watch em matches for Afcon before dem open their mouth. His team was solid. Na this same Chelle beat Finidi for friendly match.

I no understand to be honest... I tipped Burkina Faso mainly because we've played them before (2013) and on both occasions were always formidable... I always classed Mali as easy pickings. But Mali outclassed, outplayed Burkina Faso 2-0 I think... I was really impressed with their showings. Against CIV, same thing. They had the game and almost went with it.

The way I see it, the only confidence anyone can have of WC qualification is if a coach says he has Harry Potter's wand to wave and things will go according to plan.

All talk is mere talk at this point.

I don't even need to do my research. If I actually do, I would find at least 3. But even at the home front Chelle is not better than Egu.
i really wish you will search oo,
as for AE, he is a coach i love from his 2006 days till this moment.. i will agree with you that AE is better…but comparing Chelle coaching progress at an extended afcon tournament of 24, then i will tell you Chelle has almost same winning progress ratio…

AE coached at an afcon tournament of 16 teams topped the group and qualified straight to quarterfinals, won the quarterfinal and straight to semifinals and lost.

Now same AE came back for a 24team afcon topped the group qualified to round 16 and got knocked out

Chelle played a 24 nation afcon, topped the group qualified for round 16, won and qualified for quarterfinal and lost…meaning if it were the former 16nation he would have easily breezed into the semifinals 😊🙌🏻

starting from Rwanda..bro if we take a leap to win that game…then fire has been ignited in that group..
SA and Benin also are having tough games in March…i will still have 80% belief if we beat rwanda

The thing now is to do our best and leave the rest. A win at Rwanda will get us going again and inadvertently cause majority of fans to hyper expect

Well, both Rohr and Peseiro had average RECENT records before they joined the SE but they achieved meaningful success with us.

No matter how good a cook is, if you give her
2,000 naira to cook a pot of Ogbono soup, she will certainly do worse than an average chef given a budget of 500,000 naira to prepare the same dish.

No matter how skilled a coach is, if he keeps getting hired by poor teams with average players, there's little he can do. Chelle has never managed a team as talented as the SE before. Now he has a team with elite players in the best clubs in the world at his disposal.

Let's see how his soup will taste.
A bad cook is a bad cook.

Except maybe he might use part of the 500k to hire a better cook in his stead.

Though not an excuse but siasia was never giving a clean slate SE Job ..he’s always called to rescue situations ,in Wc he failed twice

Meanwhile let’s support Eric chelle as we have no choice .All hands must be on deck for this 2026 World Cup qualification

Chelle international passport read Malien
I don’t understand this comment. Can an international passport ever read something different from the country that issued it?

For example, a U.S. Naija citizen will have two passports. His US passport will have USA in the nationality section while his Naija passport will have Nigerian.

Maybe NFF couldn't secure sponsorship deal to pay foreign coach as anticipated and they believe Chelle is better and more experienced than our indigenous coaches, and affordable. His record with Mali not bad, some players protested his sack, even Mali government asked him to return back but he refused, as reported.
He may turn out to be good gamble, remember, Hervé Renard had a bad record before Zambia gambled on him and the result was good. I wish him good luck

asin eehnn the rush at which they sacked him eehn you will think mali has been winning afcon and chelle came and failed them
2013 Mali(semifinal)
2015 Mali jah for group stage same group with CIV😅
2017 Mali jah for group stage
2019 Mali jah for round 16 beaten by CIV😅
2021 Mali jah for round 16
2023 Mali reach the quarterfinals and lost to CIV.

they were stupid to let him leave. Chelle is a good coach who I love his tactical approach to games especially his high pressing method

I am not a fortune teller but I foresee him doing well with the caliber of players we have. With the difficult task in hand he will definitely invite our most inform players base on merit.

The chance with the super eagles is a big one for him and with the team’s difficult stand in the World Cup qualifiers I think he has a lot of balls to accept this huge responsibility to rescue the team’s hopes of qualifying

Saw his Malian team couple of times at the last afcon and they were very impressive and unlucky to get knocked out by the eventual champs the Ivorians.

Him and the current Angolan coach were my favourites at the last afcon
