NdiLucifer:
"Outshone" is both the past tense and past participle of "outshine."
The verb "outshined" is not wrong grammatically, as it is the simple past tense of "outshine" (just like "outshone"wink.

One is British, the other is American.

AGAIN, "Outshone" is both the past tense and past participle of "outshine."

Simple research should help dispel your ignorance.
Keep quiet.

"Outshined" is also a past tense form of "outshine," though it is used informally.

Both "outshone" and "outshined" are correct as the past tense and past participle of "outshine." However, "outshone" is more commonly used in formal contexts, while "outshined" is less common but not incorrect, particularly in informal usage.

British English: Tends to favour "outshone" as both the past tense and past participle.

American English: Often accepts both "outshone" and "outshined, with the latter being slightly more common in informal usage.

He didn't outshine anyone. Some people derive joy in attacking this president because he was not their preferred candidate. They will go to any length to denigrate their country. Is it your candidate that everyone will support tomorrow? Very bad way of life. Unpatriotic elements.

OK. I am not wrong as well. I don't use British English and "outshone" sounded off.

You're correct to use "outshined," but it is less formal. Both British and American English favour "outshone" in formal usage.

Outsine is the verb.

Outshone is the past participle and cannot be used in the context of this topic.
Outshone is also correct.

President Tinubu wasn't mentioned in the post

The Burkina Faso people are celebrating their president but the Bitter People of Nigeria( BPN) have found a way to lump president Tinubu into this

Shame on you all. Una education is just like K in knives
BURKINA FASO are celebrating their president, their leader ask yourself why nobody is interested in tinubu.
Many Nigerians don't even know who is the president. IT is that bad.
Very unfortunate

It is not "outshone", it is outshine or outshine.

Outshine is the verb while "outshone' is the past participle of that verbal. I deserve to be paid for this valuable education.

Be very careful this morning.
Rest abeg, he's correct! Past and past participle of outshine is outshone

Re: How President Traore Outshone Tinubu In Ghana (Pictures) by Elliotwaveforec: 3:27pm On Jan 08, 2025
Nnamdipapa:
No, a past participle cannot replace a verb, but it can be used in a variety of ways, including as an adjective or to form verb tenses:

Op is wrong. You need to go back to school

Have a nice day.

"Outshone" is both the past tense and past participle of "outshine."
OP is wrong. It's an aberration to use past tense on headline in journalism.
Re: How President Traore Outshone Tinubu In Ghana (Pictures) by nairalanda1(m): 3:34pm On Jan 08, 2025
cheesy

Burkina faso is not better than Nigeria.

The country is a mess security wise. Also, the economy is in serious dire straits. The national debt is growing, and is still growing. Government servicies are bad.

Grass no dey greener for the other side.

I no dey like tinubu, never voted for him. But the truth is, African economies, whether army or civillan rule...are all in a mess because the basis of those economies are raw materials, not industrial goods and taxes. And since we do not control the prices of our raw materials...wahala dey.

LIke Burkina. Its main export is cotton. Most cotton producers are in a big mess because the US Is overproducing cotton, bringing down the global price. And also subsidising its cotton farmers...so they produce more, and collect more gofment money. And US cotton producers use machinery. African cotton producers do their work by hand...so imagine a US cotton farmer with just a combine and two men can harvest far more in a day than a Burkinabe farmer....and you expect the country to be rich.

But making African countries run on industries and taxes is going to lead to a period of hardship....so we just continue with the good old ways. And if things no dey come...we blame corruption...not knowing that corruption is a symptom, not the cause. But no...

Traore and TInubu are very alike. The only difference is that one of them is the toast of the town for now, because he is popular for removing corrupt people. Just like Nzeogwu and Buhari were popular...and in few years time they were unpopular.

Grass greener on other side , and all that.

The problem with tinubu is that he was part of a party that promised us in 2014 that they were not the same as the corrupt PDP, and that they would fix the economy to boot...which was already a mess by the time they took over.

Ten years later, the economy is worse, and some of the decisions they took in oppositon...like opposing subsidy removal...now they say they are removing subsidy. Are they not being hypocritical?

You guys better wake up and stop supporting APC. Better vote them out next time. And if their replacements don;t to well, we vote them out, till our politicans learn to do better.

It appears that many among Nigerias post military generation are eyeing military dictatorship with admiration. Some are even comparing Nigeria with a GDP of $397.3B ranked the 32nd largest economy in the world, with Burkina Faso ranked 129th with $14.1B.

Because of cheers from a crowd and military uniform.

Drama over substance tick tock generation.
