AllenSpencer:Is that the best advise you have for your country men? run to another man's country, as full grown man, to go and change the diapers of older men or women? What happened to purpose in life? Why is it that all we can think about and what drives our decisions is food to put in our mouth? |

justwise:I think the person who wrote this is already thinking of leaving Naigeeria, he is just as your said lazy and afraid to make the move. He obviously believes there are no bills to pay in Naigeeria. Naigeerians pay more bills (undocumented money/bribery, cooking gas, petrol, providing their own water and electricity) than in the UK, Canada or America. |

BABANGBALI:Correct. If Seun monitise Nairaland many account would be banned and regulations will apply. Right now no regulations on Nairaland and he has to get rid of that people must accept to be musleem policy, it is biased. All the tribalistic comments and topics have to go too. |

The last time I went to UK, I could not wait to spend my 10days.. Haaaa very horrible. Na boredom go finish you. As in, the worth of money is when people see you spend it. The worth of money is when they see it in you. UK money is for paying bills. No wonder my brother living there struggled to send our mom 20pounds. The 20pounds he sent was like 2million to him. During Christmas time, you will nearly commit suicide. Very boring and lonely place. No wonder our naija brother go to shiny places to snap and post on social media. The picture they are posting is their own Christmas celebration. Most of them rushed home in december for detty december. It’s true London is shiny with good transportation. I enjoyed their transport system make I no lie, but every other goodies is just shine shine. Omo no place like home. I earn 900k per month here in Nigeria. Abeg, I no want UK or canada. Imagine my childhood friend who used to work for GTB Internal control now work in Bakery. He slumped one day and spent a month on sickbed. He had to rush to go back to work because bills were mounting. You can deceive the guilible, I Dey enter UK wella..eh no worth am Kankan..e Pele. I am a social person, UK has nothing for me. If you are a melancholic person or an introvert, fine. My friend in Canada had to rush his wife down when boredom and masturbation nearly killed him. Talk to your personal persons living there, not people coming online to form ‘I am fine’ Anyways, I pushing for a multinational work so I can earn Forex. But I no fit japa if eh no be USA |

She made sense about the cold and loneliness. But on the aspect of "paying bills", that happens everywhere. Adulthood is synonymous with paying bills. Someone who left Taraba to work in Lagos would say the same thing. |

Gerrard59:Do the math, someone who earns 900k in Nigeria hardly spend 200k on bills. If you earn 1,000,000 per month in UK, I can assure you are spending 800k on bills. |

Bede2u:Funny Less than 1% of Nigerian population can earn 4million naira monthly what is common is 4 million yearly that is 300 to 400k monthly |
| Re: Why You Shouldn’t ‘japa’ If You’re Doing Well In Nigeria – Candy Bleakz by justwise(mod): 12:59pm On Jan 08, 2025 |
Bede2u: Someone who is earning 4 million naira a month in Nigeria (3000 usd) is richer than someone earning 10,000 Cad a month in Ontario, Canada. With your 4 million, you are earning almost 50 million a year. A nice duplex in Enugu can be as cheap as 100 million. Your 2 years salary can get you a duplex. A duplex in Canada is about 1 million cad. Your 120k cad a year will need to be saved for about 9 years to get you the same duplex. Then there is the issue of community. You have a social life in Nigeria. It comes easy. In Canada, you have to make extra effort to have what resembles a social life. Most successful Nigerians lived abroad for a while and came back. Think on it if you are a big person in Nigeria currently. The grass is not greener on the other sideThis is just am ignorant statement, anyone earning 10,000 Canadian dollars a month will be able to build a house in Nigeria and buy one in Canada and still be sending money home. |

AllenSpencer:You are absolutely correct... Dude I will tell you from experience. US is the land of opportunities, just that most people wey Japa are not smart enough to grab these opportunities. It took me just in my second year in the US to start making over $100k a year, grateful to God. gunning for $150k - $200k in my 3rd year. I do HVAC... Heating, Ventilation and AC. Insane career, right? Because it involves sales, so you double as a technician and a sales person. Not here to brag, but I tell anybody who cares to know that you can make insane amount of money from this career, instead of those stressful jobs. It's commissioned, not hourly pay, you work less, I work like 26 hours a week, 4 days. It's easy to learn, just be so smart and know how to talk 👄. It's high in demand skill. Opportunities are endless. Under 5 years, you achieve what most Nigerians can't achieve in their lifetime, together with living good life, wey be say na only billionaires can afford in Nigeria. |

hotwax:Rent (pro-rated), electricity bills, fueling, transport costs and health wouldn't gulp up to 200K for the typical ~1M naira earner in Lagos (where such salaries are possible)? P.S. I've not mentioned school fees and family commitments as I assume a single person who earns such. |

It doesn't matter whether there are safe estates. So wont you come outside of the estate to go to work, negotiate business with someone or purchase something? The poverty revolves around. It(results of poverty) may still cross your path as far you move around! Bede2u: |

The country is heading nowhere. Even the crook leaders stealing the Country's money know it. That's why they hold their loot mostly in foreign currency, send their kids abroad for school, and try to acquire properties abroad and a more valuable passport. It's a sinking ship! Even if you do not have the skillset, just get out and try to acquire the appropriate skillset wherever you end up. With the appropriate skillset and hard work, there is great potential! |
