Goke7:Heyyy hold it, hold it there!! Client wasn't paying, what do you expect? Majoribanks said it several times, no envelope, no job. If you must know, I facilitated this job for Chelle now he's chilling. My ex-client will be contacted by Ikorodu FC next week. That's the best I could do for him in the circumstances. |

semid4lyfe:I agree, that is why I pointed out that the NFF is cashed strapped and that limits them from shooting for the stars when it concerns things like Super Eagles team coach recruitment. If we had the cash, paying Domenec more would have been worth it. Either way, with Eric Chelle, we stand a big chance of playing some bright tactical football and that can propel us to achieve great things. I have always believed a more balanced tactical set-up in an offensive fashion would see us producing amazing football. I hope the Eric Chelle project works. I liked his style at the AFCON a lot and really hoped for the best for him. |

minfelix:I assure you on behalf of my client (Chelle) that he will get the job done. All of you on this thread, I've conveyed your fears to my client. He has vowed to prove naysayers like Jobie and Goke7 wrong. Time will tell. As for those who believe, go and start getting reading for Mundial next year. If Nigeria does not go, another African country will go. Your faith and your money will not waste. Amen |

I'm sure the conversation around Chelle would be different if he had a lighter shade of skin, I watched this man's Mali's side and they played one of the most beautiful football in Afcon incredibly unlucky to go out, the other white coaches we have been appointing have not had a push back such as this despite having next to nothing on their cv |

Subzerooo:i was about typing the same thing , you beat me to this ... Mali ,played a very beautiful football during the Afcon , so organised and result oriented .... at least ,NFF will test him with the CHAN then he can move from there to handle the team A . but i cant forget how he played against 10men COTE Voir and still lost . played for about 50mins or more , very few african coaches are tactically sound . GOOD LUCK TO HIM |

minfelix:If he accepts the role, he will need competent assistants including a game reader, because his biggest flaw has always been his subs. His reaction to a draw or when the team is losing has always left much to be desired. His assistants has always assisted him in that regard. |

I think Ideye is fast proving his fitness and form since joining Enyimba, and it will make sense to have such an experienced striker in the Eagles mix, especially as our back up strikers haven't really been up there in the absence of Osimhen. |

3 reason why Eric Chelle:was chosen 1. High success rate with Mali Under his leadership, Mali recorded 13 wins, five draws, and only three losses, a statistic that highlights his ability to extract consistent results from his teams. 2. He is known for attacking football, often deploying a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-1-2 formation that emphasizes high pressing, quick transitions, and creative runs in behind. His teams are characterized by their flexibility, adapting shapes and strategies to exploit opponents’ weaknesses. 3.A cost-effective solution Financial constraints have played a significant role in the NFF’s coaching decisions in recent years. After parting ways with Portuguese manager José Peseiro, who reportedly earned €50,000 per month, the federation struggled to meet the financial demands of high-profile candidates like Hervé Renard and Tom Saintfiet. |

Even if we appoint pep, I have emotionally disconnected from eagles world cup qualification. I would love a pleasant surprise though but am not expecting anything |

Jieta2:Patient with a coach that will lose to Rwanda at home? Not even in Rwanda. Nigerians don't take losing at home especially to minions lightly so let the incoming coach be informed ☺️ |

The only positive I can take from Chelle's appointment is his determination to make a name for himself accepting a pay cut. This matches our desperation to qualify for the World Cup. He knows very well our biggest foes in the group -- South Africa, a team we must defeat also. Coupled with Rwanda having a new coach, it could tilt to our favor. The profiles in the Malian team he handled is quite different from ours. He has a very short time, but I am very skeptical about his tactical decisions in big moments. In reality he is quite inexperienced, but he will learn more at this new job, however it goes. |

elyte89:That post was actually a clap on some fans who were calling for Musa's inclusion just because he scored some goals for Pillars recently. Instead of seeing the NPFL defenders for the excuse of defenders they are, people were rather praising a washed up Musa and calling for his inclusion to the national team. |

I think CAF needs to be progressive with the eligibility requirement of players as regards CHAN participation. How about allowing 3 slots for debutant players who do not meet the home based requirement. At least they should be based in Africa |
