I think the majority of us will eventually come to support Chelle especially if he gets positive results from his first two WCQ matches.

I'm even more interested in him winning next AFCON even if he fails to secure WC ticket,
it was the previous coaches who put us in this precarious situation.

Mujtahida:
Looking back from where I stand now u-23 is just a few notches higher than u-17. What made it special was the manner of our victory.
Not true at all. By the next year, Ronaldo was crowned the world best player and Roberto Carlos was number 2.

Crespo, Lopez, Zanetti were regular in big clubs.

Two years later some of the Atlanta players were stars of the France 98 World Cup. You can't call the Olympics few notches from U-17. Especially , Atlanta and Sidney 2000.

Not until he mentions tiki taka,I will see whether you go still concentrate to absorb without objections.

Butt it's really good to have TheGoodJoe back.

His stats for Mali specifically is average considering the opposition if we are to look at the results.

Outside Mali, his stars are poor

Mujtahida:
Hahaha hahaha hahaha Joebie see coach wey you don condemn, na im forgiveness dey salivate with thanksgiving say Mali sack am for us.

But then his stats are impressive. Make we no lie

It's unlikely to witness any U-23 tournament like the Atalanta '96 again, full of truly great stars that would eventually became legends of the game.

This guy and minfelix, I gbadun wetin una dey cook. Situation looks bleak. We don't need doomsday analysis. I'm not saying that Chelle is the best. All I'm saying is that given how dire our situation is, what can we do other than to be positive and hope for the best.
shey make i predict march games?🤣🤣
Okay leggo
Rwa vs Nig (9ja to win)
Zim vs Ben (draw match)
SA vs Les (SA to win)

next match
Nig v Zim(9ja to win)
Ben v SA (Ben to draw)
Rwa v Les (draw match)

After March the group will look like this
SA 11pts
Nig 9pts
Ben 9pts
Rwa 8pts
Les 6pts
Zim 3pts
then we look up to september fixture next🤣🤣🤣
thats my simulation of prediction oo🙌🏻✍️✍️

That is the problem,
He might perform very well without qualifying, if SA wins their remaining matches and draw us, they qualify ahead of us.

i agree with you totally Atlanta and Sidney Olympics, even the Beijing Olympics we can't say it's a notch above u17 or even u20. This is a competition for established senior players below the age of 23 that's all.

we played well away to Rwanda compared to the nonsense we played against them in uyo…in kigali, lookman was denied a clean goal to nail them to their cross and that was when qualifiers was still very hot..that rubbish we played in uyo no b am….they are beatable at home, Benin did it there, as for Zimbabwe those one can drag you to a scoreless draw match eehn..them and uganda are one of the mumulized teams i hate watching against super eagles…but we just need to do them small thing in uyo…even if na 1-0🤣

Yes they are beatable.. I hope our custom will change with this new coach. The SE I know may beat Rwanda away and draw to Zimbabwe at home, or vice versa. Or maybe 2 draws grin

this is just a replica of what happened at the afcon vs CIV, Mali played direct and full attacking football…same last minute defensive error cost them again in this game…mali played Ghana hands down…as expected you don’t expect Ghana to be having all round bad games back to back na…this was after their poor afcon outing i gues…Ghana and CIV is bigger than mali in football, but mali played them clean clean

the truth is we've had games we outplayed our opponents or even had decent goals ruled out and we did not get the maximum points.. I think in football there is time to play conservative and play all attack especially when you know your opponents are better as in these two cases (according to you)

modified
I'm saying this coach needs to learn when to switch up play and be conservative. I think that's pretty a basic thing though i'm not a coach.
if you are going to be all out attack all the time, you will be met with situations like these.

tru sha,but most of those games we dominated and lost use to have us as the better team in terms of pedigree and class…not like this one where mali is dominating Ghana…Ghana is a better footballing nation than mali but mali dominated them same for CIV….Like the game against Gui bissau in Abuja…we played them clean clean but they won us, we are a better team in pedigree than Gui bissau and some i can’t remember…

true tok sha i feel Chelle should work on that area of his game….locking things up at the back…
the man so believe in scoring more goals to kill you off thats why those games come back to hunt him…
Against SA at the afcon after that 1-0 baba no rest he was still pumping and forgetting his defense.
Against Saudi Arabia we played 2-2 with, when his boys faced them they were leading 1-0 them they scored a second goal which was canceled they still went ahead and finish off saudi with 2more goals ending to make it 3-1…
days before afcon started they faced Gui bissau in a friendly thumping them a 6-2, while we struggled to beat them 1-0 at the afcon

I can't wait for March already. For me I think Chelle should be preocupied with scouting than being busy with CHAN. Of course unless he IS looking to infuse some home based players from CHAN

Amen ooo, i feel he loses those die minutes matches against bigger opponents with greater football pedigree than mali…you cant be leading CIV,Gha,Cam,Egy with a 1-0 and expect them not to fight back and win you even if you are outplaying them…but trust me teams like Rwanda, zimbabwe…im sure he will dominate them from start to finish

If weak teams can frustrate you defensively, then you should also have that defensive style in your toolkit when you meet bigger opponents. Na that versatility we need for the long term.
