I'm indifferent about the Chelle guy but our fate is tied together so we hv no choice than to support him.

We've had unknown quantities deliver for the Super Eagles in time past.

Westerhof was an assistant coach with feyernord before been appointed the Eagles coach and he led Nigeria to her first world cup appearance and the first AFCON glory outside Nigeria. He is often touted as Nigeria's most successful coach.

Also, Jo Bonfrere was just a physical trainer to the Super Eagles but was appointed as the successor to Westerhof and he won us our only Olympic gold till date and a second place finish at AFCON.

Conversely, we've hired top coaches who flopped with the Eagles.

Thijs libreght qualified Holland for the 1990 world cup but was poor for Nigeria.

Bertis Voght won the Euros with Germany but was a disaster for Nigeria.

Lars Lagerback took Sweden to the world cup but was poor with Nigeria.

Nothing is cast in stones in football.

Welcome Mr Chelle.

Yes but what really separates the two classes is one class was given ample time.

Mod
I hope we will be patient with Chelle if he fails at the next AFCON

He's not flopping right now. He makes appearances here and there for his 3rd tier team now. Hopefully he would get more game time if some other midfielders in the team get injured. The quality of the midfielders in his 3rd tier team is too high, that's why he hasn't been consistently playing yet.

Na Ipswich o, I don't think he would get game time with Wolves. Or maybe make Baba find one Saudi deal go chop money.

Maybe if we get a truly seasoned coach and we are patient we will be world beaters at some point.

This is the same Eric Chelle who recently led a team to defeat the Super Eagles. The same man who has coached several of our national team players
Now, let’s talk about Chelle. He has a solid track record: as Mali’s coach, he played 22 matches, winning 14, drawing 5, and losing just 3.

Overall in his short coaching career, he has managed 159 matches with 70 wins, 42 draws, and 47 losses.

These are impressive stats, yet some Nigerians are unwilling to give him a chance. Is it because he’s African? Is it because he’s Malian?
He has a really impressive stat I must confess.

But can someone help me with our players he has coached according to the bolded? I'll really like to learn please.

People only are expressing concern and have their reservations.

I haven't watched his team and I don't know how his philosophy will bode with the super eagles team and that's why I haven't made any comments regarding his appointment.

People are expected to have their reservations but it is up to him to prove them wrong by producing performances that will shut them up.

So, we refused to renew a coach contract that helped us to reach our first finals in 11 years while signing the one that got eliminated at the quarterfinals and starting afresh. Omo who do us. (Fans, FA, sports ministers)

JP's approach took us all the way to the finals, but i think the general outlook questioned his style considering the quality of players. No surprise he still hasnt landed a job. However, one thing common with both guys is that they fared poorly in WC qualification games

Peseiro's conservative style will limit our players from growing and playing to their true potential.

Chelle has a more refreshing playing style and I believe we will see a strong impact in the performances of our players.

He Is Still Under Contract - Algerian Club Fires NFF For Chelle's Appointment

There seem to be trouble following the announcement of Eric Chelle as the new Super Eagles coach on Tuesday.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is under fire as MC Oran of Algeria has revealed that the newly appointed Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is still under contract with the club.

Despite having a contract with MC Oran, the NFF went on to name Chelle the Super Eagles' head coach on Tuesday.

This move has caused friction with the Algerian club, which reportedly feels Chelle's departure undermines its ongoing project.

Chelle reportedly attended training with MC Oran on Wednesday, but the club then called for an emergency meeting to discuss the situation.

The Club highlighted the need to protect "the rights of both parties."

"This meeting will determine whether he stays or leaves the team, especially since he is still under contract," the club stated per BSN.

There appears to be a clause in Chelle's contract that allows him to leave if offered a national team position.

This clause was triggered by the NFF's offer, leading to Chelle's acceptance of the Super Eagles job.

The outcome of the meeting between Chelle and MC Oran remains uncertain.

It's possible Chelle could remain with the Algerian club if a solution is reached, or he may be released after the contractual clause is exercised.
