donself9:I currently use cake, sweets, candy, garri and ekpa, hot cocoa, noodles, and even fried eggs to bribe a 6-& half-year-old boy into doing his homework, chores, and being a good boy at home and at school. Those are just some of the privileges he enjoys when he does well and he works really hard to keep the goodies coming his way. ![]() |

For the mother not to challenge d teacher, she is also guilty of beating other children in d school. Most private schools shld not be operational honestly. |

Ishilove:Ishilove give it up already. Do u know that child abuse is a crime anywhere in the world? And anyone caught risks spending some years in jail? Most states in the US will blacklist u after serving ur jail time and u will never b employed as a teacher ever again. |

D00msDay:Ever! Even her own kids will have to be monitored whenever they are around her for many years to come. Unfortunately, even in 2025 and Nigeria the way it remains, Nigerians refuse to borrow commonsense en masse! They would rather continue to churn out damaged individuals and then turn around to keep wondering why the vast majority of the citizenry remains no better than zombies or violent barbarians. ![]() |

Kobojunkie:Ur absolutely correct @Kobojunkie. Nigerians wants a better society but they are not ready to work for it. An average Nigerian takes delight in supporting evil. They support anything bad, and u begin to wonder if it's the same set of people that are praying for change. Honestly, Nigeria is gone. |
| Re: My Son’s Ear Affected By Class Teacher’s Repeated Slaps – Mother by Kobojunkie: 10:45pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
D00msDay:I don't really believe that the desire for a better society is shared by a substantial number of Nigerians. When Nigerians pray for change, they usually pray that the change only happens for them even if at the expense of those around them. That is a country full mostly of people who don't want a better society. ![]() |

I hope the teacher has been released. Next time she should be gentler. Let this matter end. |

Kobojunkie:Ok I’ve been following your post from the beginning and YES, the woman is wrong to hit that little boy for not grabbing her lessons and all, but is this the most vicious thing you’ve ever seen. People’s intentions could be mixed up with their approach, and she’s been reprimanded for it. After this, she’ll know better but you need to pipe down with the judgy attitude. |
| Re: My Son’s Ear Affected By Class Teacher’s Repeated Slaps – Mother by D00msDay(m): 11:01pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
Kobojunkie:Hahahahahah U understood the mindset of an average Nigerian. Those praying for change are doing it for their own selfish reasons. Those complaining of corruption by our politicians are only doing it cos they are not the ones in the position to do it. Can't believe some people see nothing wrong in the issue at hand? It shows that majority of Nigerians are damaged goods. It baffles me seeing a comment from a moniker condemning the arrest of the said teacher. Can u imagine that? How can Nigeria get better wit these kind of citizens? OMG!! |
| Re: My Son’s Ear Affected By Class Teacher’s Repeated Slaps – Mother by Kobojunkie: 11:05pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
komzy589:Does it need to be the most vicious crime before I can call it out for the crime that it is? ![]() 2. The only reprimand necessary when a crime is committed is for the law to handle it accordingly. Why do you not want the Law enforced in this case?🤔 Let me put it another way for you. If a policeman came up to your mother or son and beat him up, would you equally frown against having legal action in that case? 😩😩😩 3. So, asserting that the Law should be allowed to take precedence is considered being Judgy? Would you equally consider the case if you or your mother were assaulted for free by a policeman tomorrow? 😩😩😩

D00msDay:This is why I keep saying — I have said this severally over the years —that Nigerians are the way it is today, not because of the 0.001% criminals in government but because the vast majority of Nigerians would rather it remain this way so they too can maybe get a piece of the action at some point in time. The people generally don't mind at all! ![]() |

Maxtipulation:What has the reporting of crime to do with patriotism though? In any meaningful society, isn't it meant to be the duty of every citizen to ensure that crime is reported to ensure it is curbed, and this is for the individual good of all within the society? If 14 years from now, that traumatized boy grows up into a tout/agbero as a result of the devastation experienced, no be you and everyone else wey dey live within that very community him go go after, possibly your own children too? If he were to become a teacher in one of the schools wey your children or grandchildren dey go, no be dem him go use as punching bag for his own frustration? Why una no dey reason these simple things? ![]() |

Kobojunkie:like seriously 🤣 thats raising a "Pikin" Oga even if i dont know anything i know privileges are not "Basics" or regular things ... groundnut privilege kwa 🤣 noodle privilege is getting what other children wont get on a normal day .. if noodles is a special treat that child should be with social service 🤣🤣 in the 90's gameboy, discman, mr biggs treat are privileges esp. drinking maltina your playmates that day

| Re: My Son’s Ear Affected By Class Teacher’s Repeated Slaps – Mother by Kobojunkie: 3:25am On Jan 12, 2025 |
donself9:1. I am afraid it can be just that simple. What I described earlier is just what the 6.5-year-old settles with. I didn't even say anything about what the 12-year-old accepts or the one older than that works for. ![]() 2. That is instead what you assume. ![]() 3. Even as far back as the 80's my own mother knew that she only needed to bribe me to golden morn, suya, or even a new book from the bookstore to get me to do chores at home. Again, Privileges can be as simple as I described. Ultimately, what most kids want is to know that they have your attention. If you are not able to afford the Nintendo Switch for instance, they will settle for a kid or a pizza if they know that you are at least thinking of them. 🤔 |

| Re: My Son’s Ear Affected By Class Teacher’s Repeated Slaps – Mother by donself9: 3:47am On Jan 12, 2025 |
Kobojunkie:Oga i think you are mistaken incentives for privilege, in your context that "incentives although privileges can act as incentives but incentives cant fully act as privilege if its what any child next door can get, thats not privilege, like i said in the 90s maltina na privilege, our parent promise us bicycle, how many children around fit get that For you just say incentives |
| Re: My Son’s Ear Affected By Class Teacher’s Repeated Slaps – Mother by Kobojunkie: 3:59am On Jan 12, 2025 |
donself9:Whether you choose to term it a privilege —reward only available to those who qualify(earned privilege)— or you classify it as an incentive( a motivation for doing good work), the fact here is that these are ideas to help you raise your kids without needing to resort to violence. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 |

Kobojunkie:Are the children in foreign countries faring better discipline-wise? People make reverence to the foreigners when it comes to corporal punishment, yet no one tells us how the banning of corporal punishment in many western countries has actually helped keep crime rate low. At least, before colonialism, the African discipline method helped to keep African societies disciplined. The funny thing is that the Whites that colonized us also used our corporal punishment method to train our boys who all turned out fine. The earliest black headmasters/mistresses and principals like the Kutis, the Soyinkas, all used the rod and society benefited immensely from it. |

Skydivine:But something is missing,OP? She claimed she works there,in one of the Classes, but it is in record that a Cleaner sent the video - she did not wait to let the Management know before she herself sent it to Pastor, who now escalated it? Hynm, something is missing, here! Is that Emotional intelligence? But that, the so called Cleaner is the one behind,as she is taking a revenge on the Woman, because a friend of the Cleaner was once sacked? While it's is wrong for the Teacher - beating a 3- years old, taking a revenge and causing troubles in a School environment is not an ideal,in the School is just an abnormal situation! |

Kobojunkie:Your analogy is inapt. I believe she deserves a retrospective punishment. Her intention was to teach. She did it the outmoded way. Nowadays, we have punishments like detention, assigning unpleasant tasks, timeout, even removing from class, but she chooses to do it the old way which is now called an assault. You can’t crucify her for that. |
