Where were you before you were born? How did you suddenly have the sense of touch, sound and movement? Who activated it? Abi na you activate am yourself? You can feel the sensation of air around you but cannot see air and believe air exist yet you don't believe God exist....dey play.

Now use that same brain you used to analyze the guys analogy to analyze mine and see the CLEAR picture.
I was nowhere before I was born. I was made from my pop's sperm and mom's egg. They fused and formed me. The exact date and time, I don't know.
My senses were not 'activated', they developed over time, and we use them as Developmental Milestones in assessing babies for deformities that aren't apparent at birth or are gradually developing. For example, babies tend to see, hear, feel, taste and smell in that general order. For example, if a baby is not turning the face when one claps at 6 months, we can deduce in pediatrics that there is delayed milestones and send for audiologic or ORL assessment
So in all, there is no switch. Its a function of a poorly developed brain gradually developing aided by the environment.
Also, we know air exists. How?
We can measure its properties. We can check air humidity, temperature etc.
We can split it into components like oxygen, nitrogen etc
We can liquify it. We have liquid air.
Can we check any properties of this god, his components or change its state? A Big Resounding NO!

1. If u said the aim of miracles are to entice unbelievers, then why aren't they rampant? How come the country is in disarray while the people that don't believe in god at all have better country?
2. Why exactly do u think yours was a miracle? What if i tell u someone somewhere else had your exact experience but didn't pray at all. Would you still call it a miracle? Also would you still call it a miracle if a Muslim or atheist experienced it? Remember atheists dont pray to any god
It is a miracle to the person whether he was expecting it or not,
A miracle is an unexpected good fortune which normally should not have happened.

What you are talking about to entice believers is called signs and wonders.

And you are ask God for a sign.

If you don't ask, he might decide to show you a wonder to believe in him.

2024 seemed to be a very difficult year for many, I am not excluded; it was the kind of year that one might wish they had spent in a coma, only to wake up and find it was another year.

One of my friends experienced a significant business setback, and I, along with others, tried to console her. When she finally regained her composure, she started claiming that there was no God.

Even though I was also having a bad time, her claim didn't sit well with me. There was even one particular client who was frustrating the hell out of me at the time, to the extent that I had to refund his money and tell him that I was no longer interested in doing business with him.

One day, I approached my friend and told her that I wanted to speak with her. She replied that if I was there to give her a sermon, she wouldn't listen. I proceeded to tell her that I was also frustrated and angry with God.

I narrated my bad experiences to her, but I told her that I don't think they are enough reason for me to say there is no God. I mentioned that I still remember those times I prayed and received instant miracles. There was a particular miracle that happened to me in 2022; I had shared it with her before, but I recounted it again during this conversation and also reminded her of a specific miracle she had shared with me.

I included that there are times when we ask our parents for things, and they give them to us instantly without stressing us. However, during those times when we ask and they refuse to give, we might show our frustrations or try to avoid speaking with them or seeing them, but we don't start denying that they are our parents or go to court to sever ties with them.

When I discovered she was reasoning with me, I proceeded to tell her that it was okay to be upset and frustrated, and that she could even vent her anger by misbehaving, acting like a prodigal child, and doing all sorts of things until she felt satisfied. But she should not claim there is no God when it is obvious to her that there is God. This is how I succeeded in reversing her decision.
You didn't tell her that many business set back awaits her in the future. She's a joke, life is designed with ups n downs

The matter just weak me. Religion at times makes one indistinguishable from someone with a low IQ. Religion-induced madness is so normalise that we don't take it seriously. grin
In psychiatry, its known as Religious Psychosis. Quite real and common. It affects many people including top pastors but people think its normal. Adeboye drinking tea with god is an example, where he is having visual hallucinations. Also people that feel they have gone into the spiritual realm and saying all kinds of rubbish

Its about using the mind to change reality.
Which people foolishly call miracle.
My aversion to it, is that miracle is nothing but crass materialism.
So, take it only as a step of liberation from false deities and manipulation of religion.

I am glad you admitted you were nowhere before you were born and that you were made from your pop's sperm and mom's egg. and that they fused and formed you...I cleverly made you admit this yourself so I can ask you the big question. If creating humans have been ongoing through this process for centuries from the first man, how then was the first man created? Please and please don't refer back to some scientific bullshitt after telling us the process of how you were born.

Martinez39s:
He doesn't know the correct answers to your questions. Guess what? You also don't have the correct answers. However, unlike him, you've taken one foolish step further to insist on the god answer, particularly the god of your religion.

Enjoy your arrogant delusion.
It doesn't bother me an inch if you are foolish enough to think there is no God that everything just happened by chance like water remaining suspended in the sky after the earth is heated up and pours out rain when it feels like...I am sensible enough to experience God's presence and just because you haven't doesn't make my experience invalid. You can enjoy your frustrations with doubt of God's existence while I submerged myself into the blossom of God's presence in peace.

frank317:
He does not have answers to all these, but u, a mere mortal like him suddenly knows its a being called God. So how did u know it's one being that created u and not many or a family or a community of beings? Is God what u use to fill up ur ignorance of the existence of this world?
Who now created or formed the family or community of beings since you think it wasn't just one God? You can see how foolish you sound in your wiseness.

The miracle I shared with my friend:

In 2022, I booked my flight ticket from the UK to Nigeria through an agent who was introduced to me. Although I preferred to book my flight online, I decided to patronize her. A day before my scheduled flight, she called me and informed me that my ticket had been cancelled.

I was so worked up because I had already made arrangements for the trip, and everyone knew I was leaving tomorrow; in fact, an Uber was already booked to take me to the airport. I had already spent money buying various things, so the news came to me as a painful shock. I went online to look for cheap tickets, but I couldn't find any. So, I just knelt down and prayed to God.

I told God that if this is the last thing He does for me, He should just do it. I didn't want to tell anyone about it because it might seem to them like I was stylishly asking for funds.

The deal day eventually came, and I had no ticket. I was sitting in the car heading toward the airport, scrolling through the website of the agency I preferred to book my flight from and refreshing the page from time to time.

About an hour before my arrival at the airport, I came across a very cheap ticket. With quick fingers, I booked it instantly. I don't know why the ticket was so cheap; it is possible there were available seats on the plane, so they decided to reduce the price, or someone called to cancel their ticket. But the important thing is that it was indeed a miracle for me.
How is that a miracle?
You worked for it! You said you were constantly refreshing the web page to book any available space. Yet, when you succeeded you claim it's a miracle?

Tell me something else because that's not a miracle. But we already know why. Thousands of years, your God can divide the sea and throw food (manna) down from the sky.

Few thousands years later it could resurrect the dead.

Later, it could heal the sick and make the blind see

Now, all he could do is help you book a cheap flight that atheists also book?

For me, I believe there is divine creator but I don't belive He is limited to a certain religion. A clean heart and be grateful for existence should be enough to find its mercies.

This analogy is NONSENSE!

It's one thing for your wealthy parents to REFUSE to sponsor your wedding to a second wife. You can grumble and throw tantrums if they DON'T answer that request and still consider them your parents.

But if your father was a WORLD-CLASS Oncologist who owns and controls a TOP-TIER cancer treatment centre with TOP-OF-THE-LINE equipment and CUTTING-EDGE procedures YET he blatantly refuses to treat your 3-year old daughter with lung cancer.

That's ANOTHER thing entirely.

He watches you suffer watching your child immersed in unbearable AGONY and he does NOTHING.

Instead he strokes his beards and tells you to TRUST that he LOVES you very much. And that he has a GOOD reason for abandoning your little child to die a SLOW and EXCRUCIATING death.

You are justified to say a father like that is DEAD to you, i.e does NOT exist.
That is not all oh. She called the story of what happened to her a miracle, lol. What a bad comedy coming from OP

Luck is a thing. It happens to everyone, whether christian, Muslim, atheist, Buddhist, rapist, murderers, carpenters etc, whether they pray or not.
I always use my example of myself. I had a spinal issue that made me unable to walk for weeks. I didn't pray to any scammer. Just took drugs. Now I'm using my legs. If I had prayed once, that's how everyone would be telling me its god.
OP have you thought that despite the prayerful nature of Nigerian christians, the country is getting worse daily. So why is atheistic countries like China, New Zealand which have considerably less christians than Nigeria progressing while we languish in Nigeria despite praying at any chance?

First, understand why children who are separated from their parents at birth search for their parents; then you will grasp why people are interested in knowing their Creator.

God is worthy of praise and acknowledgment.

Recognizing the existence of God provides us with insight into our source, our purpose on Earth, and our Afterlife.

Why having a believe is personal decision and has its benefits when genuinely handled, I agree with your assertion about we not getting the desired results despite the so called prayers!

The issue is that irrespective of the religion, an average Nigerian is hypocritical in nature. Just imagine a person praying for Nigeria to get better for all being among those who is corruptly enriching himself or herself at the detriment of the country and some of them even give to their religious organizations out of their proceeds of corruption!

When you see most Nigerians complaining about those in position of authority, it is because they are not able to benefit from those corrupt deals otherwise if than can, they won't complain but will call it smartness or Divine favor.

The funny thing is that his God will quickly help him secure a ticket for his flight but will watch a 5years old girl get helplessly molested by a mentally unstable Wicked man...

He started with his business issues, showing he does not have a perfect life as a believer. But his female friend going through same challenges is being tempted by the devil, while his own challenges are being managed by his God.

The way people sit down and make up super stories to suit their narratives is over my head.
When will people begin to take responsibility for their actions instead of blaming God for everything?

God has provided us with the resources we need to thrive. He designed humanity with the ability to make choices and entrusted us with the stewardship of the earth's resources.

If we could all embrace the principle of loving our neighbours as ourselves, we could create a better world for everyone. Much of the suffering we see today stems from human greed and wickedness.

The prayers and fasting u see here in Nigeria is hypocrisy.
jaephoenix:
2 Chronicles 7:14-16 New International Version (NIV)
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land

From The passage, your god clearly asks for prayers to save a country. Now Nigeria has been doing that for years. Any respite? No.
Now compare the scenario to countries that pray much less than Nigeria and are even considered atheistic, are you seeing what we are saying?

I don't know why the ticket was so cheap; it is possible there were available seats on the plane, so they decided to reduce the price, or someone called to cancel their ticket. But the important thing is that it was indeed a miracle for me.

You dont know how it came about yet you claim God doesn't exist, stay one place make thunder no miss target na. Bro, things dont just happen, someone or something made it happen, someone is controlling things and that being is called God..that is your answer.
You know, ignorance is a disease. Its ok not to know everything but to claim to know everything (while u don't) is worse than ignorance.
Thousands of years ago, people thought floods, lightning etc came from gods. Now we know better. Imagine then a man telling another that because they don't know what causes lightning, then its their god. This is what we know as god-of-the-gap fallacy. Inserting god into any deficiency in human knowledge.
