That he hasn't made any profits from the investment is also what you think and not factual because Twitter didn't report net profit for some years after the acquisition. So you drew conclusions from the information available to you just like I did.

No my information is available online if you bothered to google while you made yours up

Hi everyone

Please, I need help.

I moved to the UK in August via dependent visa. I work with a company outside the UK (in Nigeria) that pays in USDt. I'm trying to figure out how to pay tax here in the most efficient way possible without long term negative repercussions.

Can I use direct self assessment or I should register a business and pay myself through the business? Or any other options?
Best you speak to an accountant.

I think you do a self assessment and tell HMRC about the money you bring into the country, that is what you will pay tax on. One negative is if you need finance, you will be assessed based on what you declare. Again if you pay tax on your income in Nigeria, you can do the assessment and claim your tax back- something called dial taxation treaty but every income you make in the UK will be taxed.. this is my layman understanding on this, best speak to an accountant to advice on your specific situation.

I repeat, you don't have any facts, you made your statements up based on information available to you about Twitter's declining revenue.

Post the link to Twitter's official 2022 and 2023 P/L statement. Or let me make it easy for you. What was Twitter's net P/L for 2022 and 2023?

I always find your contributions here on point, including this one.
Though I've had negative experiences with people of Indian origin in professional dealings and the ones that ripped my partner off at her student accommodation, I can't say people like Sundar became the CEO of Google only by cheating the system.

I'm also learning personally that as a minority, do more than see challenges and complain. I've worked in teams where I'm the only person of color and managed to thrive by just focusing on doing my best job. You'll very likely get your respect for being competent and hard to replace.
Thanks for the nice words.

It's a developed society and there's merit in some parts and one can rise by putting in the right effort. Thats said, there are still loads of glass ceilings and unconscious bias. Just thesame way we look at established black folks who arrived 40 yrs + ago and wonder how they held steadfast inspite of challenges, I have no doubt that many of the things we go through today as immigrants would be looked back on in thesame fashion.

Something for a weekend read.
Stumbled upon this and it was masterfully written.

A gentle reminder that anyone who blames immigration for NHS wait lists or not being able to see their GP is either willfully ignorant (i.e never stepped into a hospital) or being dubiously deceptive.

This advice I want to give works best if you have been driving in Nigeria before getting here, and also based on my experience.

I used tiktok to pass both my theory and practical exams. Search for "theory test practice by Annie Winterburn" on Tiktok, the woman expalains everything about theory test, her teaching is about understanding the rules and not cramming, so you get to know what part of your driving knowledge a question is testing and easily you'd provide the answer even if you haven't seen the question before. Also, she has a course about pass the theory test, I'd recommend you buy it, not expensive.

After going through her videos for like 30 mins, then go and practice on the test app, and you would some improvement in you.

Whatever you have learnt from the theory also translate to practical, in terms of rules of driving like speed limits, hazard perception and all.

So you can a get a friend that is licenced and can add you to their insurance (if you don't have yours) let them observe you as you practise what you have learnt, then they can point out your mistakes, then go online again to see solution to the mistakes. Practice when the traffic is light, usually between 10 to 3pm and 7pm above.
Also practise with Google maps, to help you understand road markings more, and how google gives instructions, Google can say: use the left two lanes to turn left on the A56 road.

For practical test, search for Jason_horsfield on Tiktok, he makes videos about passing the practical test. Also on practical test day, you have to be vocal, and exaggerate your actions a bit, like say actions you are performing.

For example, if you are doing moving off safely, before you moving and you're doing checking, say something like: "checking if my surrounding is safe before I moving off, checking my mirrors, now signal bla bla bla..." while also ensuring your head movement is noticeable.

Use this link to see how you are going to be assessed for the practical test: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/publications/guidance-and-explanation-your-driving-test-report

If you know how to move a car, I don't think you need to pay an instructor for anything again, you can just go online and learn the rules that guide the movement of car in the UK, that's my opinion.

All the best.
What about those not driving before?

Please anyone with suggestions on where to go to in Spain for holiday. I want a place that has a traditional beaches and enough grounds for children to play. Note that I'm checking Google too but first hand experience could help better. Thanks

Costa del sol, Benalmádena...... I don't know if CLC still offers such holidays.......

If they do, hop on it (don't buy a timeshare property)..... I repeat, enjoy the accompanying holiday, but (don't buy a timeshare property)..... 😁😂🤣

If everyone ran away from the care sector, who would look after the elderly...... If we all went into tech or other fields, who would look after our parents/loved one's, when they become frail..... 😊😍

We want to know where the funding will be coming from if they scrapped it. BBC has to find a way to fund itself or charge those who watch their programmes like Sky and other channels.

If anything is scrapped, just know it will still come out of the same taxpayers' pocket in another form. Nobody can be wiser and smarter than any govt. They will still collect that fee from you

BBC should simply invest in technology, by simply adopting a Netflix subscription based system....... 😁😂

Never say Never....... 😁😂

The average lifespan of a television set, is between 8/15 years (I think)......

They would have to charge about 15 years of TV licence fee, from each TV sale.... That TV set would be so expensive, no reasonable person would buy any TV set.......

That defeats the purpose....... 🤣😂

Then go for the smart phones, tabs, laptops as well since we use them for subscription video on demand.

Succinctly put! Couldn't have said it better. Going back over 50 yrs, aside special instances, there's virtually one reason why any imigration pathway was made open in the UK.

I see Shamima Begum is in the news again.

She will continue to haunt this country until we allow her to come home. You can't just fob off your problems on other countries.

Bring her back ,try her and jail her here.
