The smart thing to do is to apply before getting pregnant or apply for student visa . kindness111: |

There is nothing like like a medical visa. Explore other options other than Brazil because it takes time these days. ovi4real: |

kindness111:Visas are issued according to the 1. Approved length of stay for the country of origin if traveller or 2. The maximum limit on the passport of the traveller. I your case as a Nigerian, you get normal 1 year multiple entry visitor visa. But since your passport is less than the 1 year visa you could have got, they will give you visa equivalent to the remaining duration of your passport. Bear in mind that sometimes they will not give you the visa because you have less than 6 months validity remaining on your passport (some Embassies, I don't know of Brazil) |

Obinnau:Ok thanks. |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by belovedmimz: 6:01pm On Jan 14, 2025 |
kindness111:I go with what Obinnau said. Since you've had the baby already, I would suggest you retrieve your passport and apply for other visas (if you have a UK or Schenghen, you can use this to Mexico) that don't take as long a waiting time. But if you've made up your mind on Brazil (like me🙈), retrieve and get a new one, then apply again so there's no issue of validity of passport or visa. All the best! |

Good day everyone please I am 25 weeks pregnant and I submitted my Brazil tourism online application form and also submitted the delivery receipt two days ago but the status shows “in review, wait for email “ but am yet to get any email Also among all the requirements for tourism visa I did not submit my company introduction letter because even up till now am still waiting on them to finalise the letter and also did not submit evidence for flight reservation So I want to know if it will cause me visa denial And how long it will take for embassy to respond Also want to know if anyone has applied while pregnant before and if it was approved Thank you in advance |

We are on tourist visa in Brazil and we don't have residents permit yet. My wife delivered few days ago and we want to apply for PR. Do we need to authenticate our Police Character Certificate at the embassy of Brazil in Lagos or we need to authenticate it at the Nigerian embassy in Brasilia and how do we go about it if it's to be at the Nigerian embassy in Brazil? Is it by sending it via courier or one needs to go to Brasilia? Please I need help on this. |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Coo1mana: 1:46pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
What other ways can you get PR or Citizenship in Brazil/Mexico if you are not to give birth. |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by niyyie(m): 5:47pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
Congratulations! The first choice should be for your Nigerian Police Clearance Certificate and your (with spouse)'s birth certificates to be certified by the Brazilian Consulate in Lagos AFTER the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja has authenticated them. If the above is impossible for you, you can have the Embassy of Nigeria in Brasilia certify your Police Clearance and Birth Certificates AFTER the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja has authenticated them. Have you secured your new baby's Brazilian birth certificate? Reliablevisi: |

If marrying a citizen of either countries is not an option, both countries offer Investment as well as Retirement Visas that will potentially lead to PR and (later) Citizenship. The specific requirements for either will vary and be determined by your country of current residence. Coo1mana: |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Letsmove: 6:33pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
Reliablevisi:Call Nigeria Embassy in Brasilia and they will direct you on what to do. You only need your Police Character Certificate for both of you to be authenticated. Your birth certificates are not necessary at this point. |

Congratulations on your baby. Almost all embassy will deny you a visa if you have less than 6 months validity on your passport. You can apply for a passport renewal even if your current one isnt expired, it's called extension of validity. kindness111: |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by dvs511: 2:10pm On Jan 17, 2025 |
The embassy might send you an email to provide the missing documents. Although I'm not sure your excuse for not including a flight reservation, it might cause a denial of visa. Most people recently got their visa approved between 4-6 months after application, maybe because of several applications the embassy received or probably because they know a lot of people are going there to give birth and left with about 3 months EDD. You're already 25 weeks gone and just applied, going by their tactics lately, you might get a response after you've given birth unfortunately. But I wish you a favourable news. We applied 5 months into our pregnancy and visa was granted 3 weeks after we gave birth in Nigeria ![]() priscaebuka21: |

Letsmove:We can extend the entry stamp to another 90 days if we are not able to meet up before our initial 90 days entry stamp expires. It's not much of an issue although it's extra stress though. |

untamedd:Thank you so much. I will go for the second option. |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Reliablevisi: 8:04pm On Jan 17, 2025 |
Letsmove:Thank you so much I will call them by Monday. Please when would our birth certificates be required? Or birth certificates is not required all through the Permanent Residency application? |
| Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by priscaebuka21: 8:48pm On Jan 17, 2025 |
dvs511:the reason I did not attach my flight reservation was that most of the websites were asking for complete payment and it is not refundable but i attached my hotel reservation |

Hello @Millzyte The process is still the same in many ways, but the key is to APPLY EARLY. I know it has been said here, but you must start as EARLY as possible. I sent a request to DM you. Millzyte: |

dvs511:Thank you for your contribution; as at the time of my application,I have more than 6 months validity on my passport but due to the Embassy delay, am afraid it will affect my visa approval, I hope for the best. |
