Yes it is. I'm above that age and I give it a shot and it worked. So yes. You can settle down quickly since you don't have kids yet and its good you're married.
eddyme:
Please, i have got a question, is canada still a good destination for someone age 40 for graduate program, newly married but no kids
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by obam2780: 3:11am On Jan 13, 2025
It might need a better approach because your Proof of funds is one of the key factor to approval. The fund alone is not enough, you must understand how to word your SOP/LOE.

Doladollz:
Hello everyone! Please I need your opinion.

My visa was refused twice last year so I’m planning to reapply again.

NOTE!
- I submitted my dad’s personal account, his business account and my own personal accounts.
- He transferred some money to my account(30m) and we did a gift deed affidavit.
- I paid one semester tuition (It’s a one year programme)

My application was refused based on financial reasons. After requesting for my GCMS notes, I found out that they focused more on my dad’s business account which had some lump sums and they didn’t even check my personal account.

Now, to move forward, I want to pay my complete tuition and I intend to use only my account which has #30,000,000 as POF for living expenses because I don’t want my dad’s account to complicate things. The money has been in my account for 4 months. Do you think that will be enough?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by obam2780: 3:14am On Jan 13, 2025
Since you've paid half of your tuition, you only need to show this:10k cad + 20,635 living expenses. Ensure you tabulate your Proof of funds section in your SOP and give the breakdown so the VO can understand what has been paid and what's left.
D4real9:
Please Guys I need help
,if my 1 year tuition is 20,000 cad and I’ve paid 10k cad already for my first semester tuition.

Do I demonstrate a balance of 10k cad + 20,635 living expenses?

Or

20,000 Cad + 20,635 living expenses

despite paying half of it already.

You should be good with your WES. And you can email the school and tell them your challenges, they will guide you on what to do.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by obam2780: 3:21am On Jan 13, 2025
No amount is fair. You can do it yourself. I can help you with the SOP. But if the agent has helped you get admission and other things, you can pay as your pockets accomodates.
Mastercraft360:
How much do you think is a fair price to pay an agent for visa processing?

I get to provide every document except the SOP.

Please let me know.

Thank you

The possible chance you have is to demonstrate that lump sum is available by spending it and paying the tuition balance from it. And you would still have to explain the source of the funds with proper supporting docs.

A lot of people got admission through this format in time past only for them to get stranded in Canada and unable to fund their study.

We re the ones who awakened ircc consciousness to these things.

So sorry, you just have to get more documentation and possibly spend out of the money available for your study to proof the VO decision wrong.

Hello everyone, please I have a question.

My program is two yrs, I got the tuition covered with mpower, I have 21k USD solely for living expenses in our joint account, 4.5k for miscellaneous, hubby is my sponsor, do I still need to show money in his personal account?

Please help
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by sternakin(m): 4:21am On Jan 15, 2025
Yes, you need the statement for the month the land sale payment was made into her account just to butress the amount and the buyer's name that shall be further corroborated with the executed Deed of Assignment showing same name for the buyer and the amount the property was purchased. Both documents were meant to show the genesis of the lump sum in your account, that it was truly from your mom and proceed of land sale.

Seyi111:
Thanks. Please will I also provide 4 months bank statements of my mum’s account? And the land wasn’t sold recently but last year. Will I just show the month She sold the land? Thanks

alphavictor07:
Hey guys,

I really need your help with my student visa reapplication. My first application was refused with the generic reason "not likely to leave Canada after study." When I ordered my GCMS notes, the real issue turned out to be "insufficient funds available."

In my initial application, I submitted an education loan approval/sanction letter that fully covered my two years of tuition and living expenses. I also showed 25,000 CAD in my father’s account as additional financial support.

I’m not sure why this wasn’t considered enough, and I’d really appreciate any advice you can give me on how to handle this and make my case stronger for the reapplication.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

Are you getting a reference before admission because, each college will tell you how they will get your references.

- They can send a link to the official email address of the referee to fill their reference
- They can also request the referee to write the reference letter addressed to the admission committee of the particular school

After going through your GCMS note, it is clear that the funds are for demonstration purposes. For a 41-year-old to be sponsored by his brother-in-law, it does not suit you not to talk of VO. Let the brother-in-law send the funds to the PA account and do a notarized gift deed clearly stating that the funds are an unconditional gift, provided solely for the PA's education and related expenses; provide documents that demonstrate the brother-in-law's financial capacity and the source of the lump sum. letter of explanation (LOE) from the brother-in-law addressing why he is supporting the PA.

Your SOA from Eco were not clear for the VO to review and the funds in GTCO and Stanbic were too small to cover your expenses. Maybe you can share the details of the funds breakdown so it can be compared with what you need.

The good thing is the VO did not flag the sources of funds but the totality you have.

I have reviewed your GCMS note; submitting a multiple account for you and your spouse was a problem for the VO. Try to minimize the number of accounts to at least 2; above 2 bank accounts might pose a problem. Consolidate funds: transfer funds from multiple accounts into one or two primary accounts. This simplifies the VO’s review process and demonstrates financial preparedness clearly. If it’s not possible to consolidate, include a Letter of Explanation (LOE) detailing why multiple accounts are being used. Your financial documents should be legible for the VO. Do not assume it is clear after compression; ensure to preview before uploading your documents. Ensure to calculate the required amount you will be needing for you and any accompanying members and back it up with documents to proof its source.

Does getting a medical request a good sign?

I noticed my eligibility is completed

Applied since August 2024

It's exhausted seeing Nov, December getting decision 🤦‍♀️

Yes. If they requested for it, then you are almost home. Goodluck.
