ogaemma:but this happen In remote village and this is an economic war not ethnic wars, we all know what you people want to see a big scale ethnic war between Hausa and Fulani which will never came in sha Allah our level of integration is more than you expect it is like telling the Arabs and berbers in North Africa to go to war or German Americans to take arms against Anglo Americans those peoples all integrated now although each know it separate existence and celebrated their cultural institutions they all are related so is the north keep waiting till doomsday. |

The majority were English so to win the locals, they have to use a common Language. Germany was spoken in the US substantially but the Germans who makes upto 50% of white Americans had to stop because of persecution for causing the first and second world wars. Weren't we forced to speak English in Nigeria by the colonial masters? SmartPolician: |

DMerciful:no I can't I entered school very early (3 yrs) and everybody speaks Hausa in school so me but although our father is not happy about it, I never see him speak to his brothers or any other Fulani elderly man in Hausa and also our mums died early and our father marry a Hausa woman so offsetting our chance of learning fulfulde but insha Allah I will marry a Fulani speaking woman so that my kids can learn the languages. You really reminded me my limitation |

Bandirao:But it seems that Fulfude is kind of hard? Cuz I’ve been around many Fulanis and they barely speak any other language aside from Hausa.. |

DMerciful:English is not our native language; it's our Lingua Franca. That was taught in primary school. What that means is that every Nigerian has his own language but has to use English to communicate when speaking with people from a different tribe. If you go to Enugu, you hear people naturally converse in Igbo. If you go to Abeokuta, you hear people speak Yoruba. If you go to Kano, you hear people speak Hausa. This simply tells you that these people have their original languages but only converse in English because it's a multicultural society. In Australia, that's not the case. Generations of Aussies have decided to drop their native languages and embrace English. That's why if you travel from Sydney to Melbourne, you only hear people speak English, not some other native languages (as seen in Nigeria). There's a difference between the two scenarios and I don't think I can explain it beyond this. |

I understand your point but those generations of Aussies are not aboriginals. The aboriginals of Australia and New Zealand were driven out to the Micronesia islands. The British were the colonial masters in Australia and New Zealand so other Europeans must fall in line and use English. SmartPolician: |

DMerciful:and the funniest thing is that Atiku is not even Fulani literally everytribe In Adamawa can speaks fulfulde Atiku tribe become Muslims and assimilated into Fulani culture and languages and the reason other Fulani elites don't speak fulfude is the policy of Dan fodio in which he insists that every dominant language in the emirate is to be speak alongside Arabic which is international language in the Muslim world so Hausa was popular in the western emirates (core Hausa land) and fulfulde in the East (Gombe, bauchi, and adamawa) and the reason eastern emirate speak fulfude as lingua franca is that there is no dominant language in the region too many tribes and while the Hausa settled greatly in bauchi and Gombe and hausanized it Adamawa and taraba remain unhausanized until recently. |

DMerciful:this is the first time I read that Atiku grandfather migrated to Adamawa the very facts that he speak fluent fulfulde tell that he has rural background in Adamawa. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://punchng.com/that-atiku-speaks-fulfulde-doesnt-make-him-a-fulani-man-miyetti-allah/&ved=2ahUKEwjFvfibpf2KAxWNU6QEHRYXL68QFnoECDIQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2m1IUUGVxqW8AA-QCvcWSb |

If you read this article you quoted, they were reacting because Atiku said Buhari isn't a full Fulani man because he can't speak fulfude. Their reaction is political so can't be taken as real Bandirao: |
| Re: Attention: Did You Know That There Is No Hausa Among Northern State Governors by Bandirao(m): 7:02pm On Jan 17, 2025 |
DMerciful:but you also missed my point, a Fulani is a Fulani whether he speaks fulfulde or not and that you can still speak fulfulde but never become a Fulani ethnically I think you never heard of maccube and baleebe ? They where people that assimilated and highly connected with the Fulani ruling house they maybe of slave descent or not same like Tafawa balewa who although speak fulfulde and have a Fulani name he is not ethnically Fulani but cultural one, physically Atiku don't even look like Fulani he is very fat and pot bellied wich is highly untypical Fulani and there is little chance of a Fulani being fat and pot bellied as Atiku though very few did, if anything Atiku looks tiv or chamba. |
