What are Agbado illiterates celebrating here?

70% of Oyedele's recommendations have been whittled down or thrown away.
- Derivation is now only 20% instead of 80%
- Corporation Tax - UNCHANGED
- VAT increase - STALLED
- 80% (50% -equity + 30% -population) of VAT still goes to POPULATION and EQUITY (North is the winner, while Lagos and Rivers lose)
- All Institutions like TETFUND, NASEN, NITDA, etc - UNCHANGED

What exactly did TINUBU achieve with the Tax Reform Bills?
Congratulations to Zulum, Ndume and Bala = These WINNERS
You wan spoil fun for some people hailing their god

This man called Jagaban can always find his way out of the mix
it is a very uncommon unique attribute of the bullion van leader to get all on board
some may argue that he have not done well to satisfy all but for this so called tax reform
i say kudos at lease to bring the rich to answer for the long years of tax evasion

Nigeria needs political restructuring, not only tax Reforms.
not from this generation living in Nigeria, when election comes people develop artificial hunger, begin to demand for money before vote for the leader, you cannot eat your cake, and asking people where is the cake

There's nothing to watch

Give the full statement to someone with a better understanding of English to read and interpret to you

He welcomed their intervention and called upon NASS to fast-track the passage of the bills

Where did it say he rejects the communique issued?

Are you aware the communique was issued after agreement with his Tax reform committee?

Their concern is well taken care of. One of the area a contested which is incremental VAT system is addressed. They who oppose they reform from the begining have done the country good.

I see.
Raji Fashola is President Tinubu's political ideologue. When Fashola was governor of Lagos State, he said Nigeria doesn't require any more political restructuring.
Before then, Tinubu had crisscrossed the southwest region for more than 12 years asking for political restructuring of Nigeria
.

When Tinubu leaves office without restructuring NIgeria politically, they will resume agitation for Oduduwa Republic.

Gets what? Some of you are just too gullible. 20% was allocated based on population. Is that what you call Tinubu gets what he wants?

Tinubu had no choice than to succumb to the northern governor's and senators unless he wants to do a term president. Once they says no, he can't do anything.

It used to be 30%

20% is an improvement, isn't it?
Re: President Tinubu Commends Governors For Supporting Tax Reforms by ItsTutsi(m): 6:35pm On Jan 17, 2025
Those ppl hailing Tinubu are very delusional, I don’t know why they are celebrating. If the governors proposal scales through, then nothing has changed

The previous one was;

50% based on equity
20% based on derivation
30% based on population

The only minor changes is derivation and population, against what the president wanted to be 60% derivation

The governors are stakeholders providing recommendation. It ie still a bill that will finalised by the legislative chamber and final assent may be president.

Corporate Income Tax (CIT) in the US - 21%
Corporate Income Tax (CIT) in Germany- 15%
Corporate Income Tax (CIT) in UAE - 9%

Somehow, our Governors thinks a country like Nigeria that needs to create 5m Jobs annually should maintain a CIT of 30%!

Manufacturer Association of Nigeria said the proposed CIT reduction in the bill from 30% to 25% will enhance competition for investment destination among top Africa economies with Ghana @ 25%, SA 27%, Algeria 26% & Egypt 22.5%. But the Govs said companies should not be supported.
Don’t they think things through?
