Celibacy is not part of our culture in Africa. We are even struggling to cope monogamy. Never blame the priest ditching the priesthood for normal life like every other humans.

I hope he finds joy and peace of mind in his newly embraced lifestyle.

The Rev. Fr. in question have already requested to be released from all canonical obligations and responsibilities associated with Holy Orders within the Roman Catholic Church, that is obviously a Letter of resignation.
The Rev. Fr. Should have been patience enough for his request to follow due process and his resignation to be fully and officially granted by the Catholic church authorities before going into any marriage vows.
The impression now is that he broke the rules and was disgrace and excommunicated out of the Priesthood.
I feel for all Reverend Father's.

I hope they review this marriage subject amongst Reverend Father's in the near future.

St Paul, a celibate is their patron saint so they have to take a vow of celibacy and poverty once they enter into priesthood. That's the sacrifice you have to make to be a Catholic priest. If you can't keep your vows, the honourable thing to do is what this young man has done.

The Catholic Church disgraced themselves by publicly declaring him suspended and excommunicated..they should have followed up on this quietly and remove him, but they had to shout ..they are the losers not the ex priest

He already requested to be relieved of all priestly duties. I guess the process of formally granting his application would take awhile, which he could not wait for. After all, he had not been engaged in priestly duties for some time. Whichever way, he was already opting out.

Suspension is a disciplinary measure for erring Priest. He is still a Priest serving punishment.

But if he had submitted the documents that would have began the process of his laicization and he would have been dispensed of his vows then he may go and marry freely.

Celibacy is NOT that difficult.

But once you don Fcvk towtow or Preek and decide to go into Seminary or Convent,
