As long as one is alive, needs, priority and preferences would always change with time.
The process of becoming a priest is a long term decision that starts even in teenage years.
Sometimes, those children attend seminary school due to their many other reasons.
A lot of factors could have prompted the initial decision. One is cheaper alternative to quality education. Peer pressure from local parish and parents home church is another reason. Lastly, the child trying to imitate or please the people around him.
