You don't need birth certificates. But your police character will have to go to Brasilia to the embassy. Then there's paperwork to be done, before beginning the final application process in whichever city you're located in. Most likely you will have to extend but I don't see that as a big issue.
Letsmove:
You do not need the birth certificates.

Dear VITEM XI applicants,

This message is to inform the updated list of required documents for current and future family reunion visa (VITEM XI) applications in case of VITEM holders (study/work permit and other temporary residence visa).

In all cases of VITEM holders who are not yet living in Brazil, it is mandatory to sign a declaration in behalf of family members (spouse and children) applying for family reunion visa (VITEM XI).

The consulate recomends to all VITEM I and VITEM IV beneficiaries/applicants, to request a letter from the institution/university in Brazil, acknowledging that the researcher/professor/student has informed to be travelling with family (listing the name of spouse and children, accordingly).

The declaration must be notarized!

Kindly see atttachments for information on the required documents for family reunion visa applicants, specially in case of children (minors).

Good Evening, Please when filling the form is it better to pick submission in person or by courier ? Is there any difference submitting in person and submitting via courier? Thank you.

i can't even check the status of my application anymore. keeps saying "request not found". is anyone else experiencing this?

priscaebuka21:
Good day everyone please I am 25 weeks pregnant and I submitted my Brazil tourism online application form and also submitted the delivery receipt two days ago but the status shows “in review, wait for email “ but am yet to get any email

Also among all the requirements for tourism visa I did not submit my company introduction letter because even up till now am still waiting on them to finalise the letter and also did not submit evidence for flight reservation

So I want to know if it will cause me visa denial
And how long it will take for embassy to respond

Also want to know if anyone has applied while pregnant before and if it was approved

Thank you in advance

Good Afternoon, Please do you know or does anyone know if you have to make payment and upload the proof of payment before submitting the online form at https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/requerimento or you only make payment and upload the proof of payment on the Lagos consular section https://ec-lagos.itamaraty.gov.br/process?id=678e5a4a0841e800147706ee ? Thank you

In terms of when, its not specific in recent times. Before before before before and before the time before before, it was usually 5 days. Later it came to one week then two weeks and then later to when the angel stirs the water.

1. Did you include a cover letter?
2. Are you employed or work for yourself?
3. What's your purpose of visit, were you invited?

If you didn't include a cover letter, please send one now
If you're employed, your employer should also write a letter confirming your employment status and anything else that assures your return (like how you're a high value employee and no one can do your job, things like that)
If you weren't invited, your hotel reservation is okay.
For flight reservation, someone earlier mentioned that most sites now ask that you make the full payment for reservation. You can get in touch with trusted travel agents for this, you can also just check some sites on your own (Skyscanner, trip it, kiwi, hopper, etc)

Goodluck👍

How do we get the declaration, is it on the site or there is a template for it?
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by dvs511: 10:38am On Jan 23, 2025
You dont need to pay for flight ticket, most embassies will tell you not to pay until you receive a visa.
What they usually want to see is the flight itinerary. Book a flight and select the pay later option. Print out the booking reservation and attach it to your application.

For cover letter, My wife is employed by an organization while I am self employed. We both sent in personal cover letters introducing ourselves, mentioning our reasons for wanting to visit Brazil and some of our vacation plans while we're there.

I know, the problem was most of them were not allowing me to download it or even send me the reservation as file or pdf format so i could not send it to someone to print

but thanks to you I just used Ethiopia airline and they sent me the reservation in pdf format, I was able to download it and use but then, they said it would be reserved for just 24 hrs I don't know if that is okay

The embassy doesn't expect you to pay for your ticket without visa.

My wife applied since July, and we only got email to send updated ticket and hotel reservations in November.
How can we cancel the application so we can get the passport back? Its been over 6 months

This is my current situation since August.

We have uploaded flight itinery twice. November and January They requested for the minor authorization and consent in January 8 Because it was not initially submitted. We couriered it back immediately. And we are still waiting.
