Thank you to all the contributors on here I’ve been a silent follower.

I recently applied for a visit visa for my paternal auntie (lost mum over 10 years) and I had a baby in 2024 so wanted to invite my auntie over.

Submitted biometrics 02Jan2025 at Ikeja
Email to pickup passport 14Jan2025
Visa approved 6 months.

My auntie has a shop where she sells used clothes

Documents I submitted
My payslip / 6months
My contract of employment
My council tax letter
My utility bill -6 months
My passport
My bank statement
Invitation letter in which I explained my auntie was a retired school teacher and has a clothing shop which my other auntie will look after when she travels
Pictures of my auntie and I when I visited Nigeria in 2021

Documents my auntie submitted
Her passport page
Receipt of her shop rent
Local shop levy receipt
Her old university ID card with her maiden name to match with mine.

She has 3 grown up children last one is 19 years old.

I forgot to add that in the invitation letter I did say I will be paying for her application fee, flight, and she’ll be staying with me. So the entire cost of her trip will be covered by me.

Your prayers and luck worked.

Many couples in fact some children invited their mums and stated clearly that they are paying 100% yet they refused thier parents in the claim that they didn't submit personal bank statement

Any husband? What would be the home ties?
Sometimes they overlook the account statements as long as other documents show strong ties that the person must come back especially for older/aged applicants.
Yes oh. She’s married and still living with her husband.

Thank you, Yes you are right. Perhaps it also depends on how much they’ve submitted in their bank statement.

My older sister also applied last year when I had baby. After two refusals and I followed all the guidelines here she cleaned up her statement for 6 months and was also approved in Feb24.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by MsAnonymous: 10:46am On Jan 23, 2025
Hello house

Please I want to apply for UK visa for a visit in March.
If I had known before now that I needed to travel, I would have put my account in order (I received credit alerts from multiple sources other than my employer). Pls is this a big risk I’m taking?
Or do I just calm down and explain every credit alert in a letter?

Please, I hope the monthly interest from the bank into my account won't affect the statement account

Mine was flagged as unknown funds in my first application, although it was written “credit interest “.
So make sure to explain that on so so date, this amount was a credit interest from the bank.
If you can also contact your bank and asked them what credit was that, they will say it’s a credit interest or so so.
Then add the email to your explanation as well.
That’s all. I did this in my second application, so make sure you do it in your first now.

I'm in the same situation as you right now and about to nervously submit my application next week lol, but I'd say it depends on what the credit alerts are for. If these were just due to transaction reversals, just explain in your cover letter, then attach email evidence from anyone in your bank confirming that the credit alerts were due to transaction reversals after debits for failed transactions like I did.

However, if these inflows are from other sources, I suggest delaying your application till your account statements are clean and going forward, use only your salary account for inflows from your employer (unless there are transaction reversals, which can be justified after debits for failed transactions), then another account for inflows from other sources.

Submit copies of your children's birth certificates and data pages of their passport (if they have)

For your business, submit certificate of incorporation and evidence of the tax you pay. You can add invoices, evidence of payment received for jobs done / services rendered to your customer etc. Your business card. etc

No, it will not. Print out the statement and use a pen to circle the interest, then add a short note.

Pls has anyone here successfully processed a refund from VFS?

More than 2 weeks now, they debited me and Flutterwave confirmed that the payment went through. But their customer care is just so unhelpful, not even an acknowledgment. They keep responding like after every 4 market days to ask for another document (passport, appointment letter, etc)

This can be done using PDF editor without printing out, by highlighting in text colour

What day did you get a notification that the DMC has received your application? You should count from that date not necessarily the day you made the biometrics. I really don't know about Ikeja VFS,if they get the application across to the DMC the same day.
Did bio same day at Ikeja 2 Jan. I did not receive any mail from DMC but rather I only received a mail from VFS that my docs has been sent to UKVI..

This should be one of the reasons for approval! Home ties is very important. It shows that the applicant we return to her home country!

Hello house. I've gone through the recent posts on the thread and can't find a case peculiar to mine. So please can you advice on how to go about my application:

- I'm employed by an European country but I opted to become a contractor because Deel exchange rates were really low. I was losing like half of my salary because they were using bank rate then.
- To be signed as a contractor, I had to register a company which I did. But I haven't even done anything via the company. I have been to the Schengen region 3x (France, Denmark & Spain have issues me visa) and I have never used the company details I registered. My company always wrote a letter of introduction stating I am employed as a contractor. Do you suggest I stick to the company invite and select 'employed' when completing the form?
- My Company pays me in Euros and thr amount I get each month isn't consistent because of exchange rate. So I don't really know how to answer how much you earn monthly question.
- Still on salary, I'd normally exchange half of my salary to naira to cater for my monthly expenses and just send the rest to Rise ($ wallet), or Bamboo (stock investment) or Piggyvest (naira if I have excess spill over from exchange rate). How do I explain why I am not moving all my salary into that one account I use?
- I also try not to put too much money in my naira account so I don't spend any how. The amount I exchange is usually just the exact that covers my monthly expenses or maybe surplus by 500k. Won't the Visa officer think I don't have enough money to cover the trip?

Thank you as your share your thoughts

For someone applying for global talent visa does she need PCC Police Character Certificate for her self and an adult dependant and a minor under 18.

If yes, can it be done in any state?

@ Davodyguy and Cashmadam God bless you for the good work you are doing

Total budget = £1001.

Another question is that I have two wife's,can I include the wedding certificate of my two wives to the documents I will be submitting to increased family tie,?

2) Can I also add the two wife's in my dependants?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ozeggy:
You can request for a portfolio valuation/investment letter from Bamboo and Rise. Upload these letters alongside your bank statement as financial evidence

You e been refused or you guys have been refused couple of times, hence you're a flash point.

Has your circumstances improved significantly to the extent that the company that pays you 1m a month actually generates about 3m a month?

Please answer my questions
You didn't understand my post at all and also didn't understand all my explanations.

If you're self employed, your business must be doing so well that it is able to make ₦30million a year.

You want to tell UKVI that you earn ₦12m per annum.

Then your business should be generating ₦30million a year.l, cos you have other expenses aside your salary. ₦30m means all salaries of you and staff will be about ₦20m, tax ₦5m then profit as a business about ₦5m after all expenses.

That's how a business work

Don't think by showing account balance Visa Officer would just dash you visa?

Where did you get hotel for 3 days @ £61?

Total budget is not the issue. Do you have the income to support this expense?

From what you stated, your monthly disposable income is N700,000. In one year, the assumption is that you have saved N8.4Million. Is that reflected in your statement of account?

If you add 2 wives as your dependant, surely your disposable income will reduce.

You need to think through this thoroughly - otherwise, refusal is loading....

Good evening everyone .
Please I want to find out when do we start counting for the processing time . Is it from the day of biometrics or from the day we receive the email that it has arrived the DMC.
I did my biometrics on the 10th of January but didn’t get the email that it has reached the DMC till 15th of January. So I am confused as to when to start counting from .
Thank you so much .

Hello, UKVI have started tracking if a business is active on CAC portal. Verify it before you submit it.
Also, have you got a business account (bank statement), if yes, print 4months and attach it with your savings account.
It can also serve as a proof of home ties.

To proof relationship with your children, attach their birth certificate & one family picture
