Visa subclass 186. Employer nominations.
Thanks for sharing. I’m just curious, does 186 visa gives immediate PR or comes with a certain number of year you must work to earn one ? Just like United Kingdom, you need to work for an employer for a minimum of 5yrs to be entitled to PR, and I think 3yrs for Canada.
So if Australia gives immediate PR with a skilled work visa, that is so kind of them.

Good question from an intelligent Nigerian. He said his wife was a student as at July 2023 for a 2yr course. By 2025 January 20, Dem done get 186 pr visa. The story get k-leg sha and the numbers are not making sense. Cos I know u have to work for a sponsoring employer for 2yrs or most times even more before they sponsor you for 186. Well, maybe the wife has some unique skills and qualifications that gave her the opportunity to get employer sponsorship so fast while on student visa.
But people should not be deceived that it is this easy.
There are thousands of people on student visa on Australia even as far back as 2015 who haven't been able to convert to a P.R pathway.

But congratulations if he is saying the truth.
Yea, just curious. But if they give PR in 13 months that’s so kind of them.

That's not quality of life
the fact that you even think this says a lot bout u
my guy, I see a lot of people throw this phrase around a lot, often still not grasping the simple fact that 'quality of life' at the end of the day is purely subjective.

It is purely subjective, just like beauty, it is in the eye of the beholder. What you deem as a good quality of life, will differ from the next person, there is no hard and fast benchmark, unfortunately.

Wanted to chip that in today

Visa subclass 186 give you automatic permanent resident status in Australia. The next in line is citizenship that comes after 4 years.

Visa sub class 186 is employer sponsored. There are different employer sponsored visa but they give temporary status but a step toward PR.

But 186 is PR.

I guess op and his wife have very special talents and grace compared to the thousands of international students in Australia who studied a non-priority course as accounting like them and havent gotten invited yet. God is great 😃

13 months after, my family became permanent resident. It can only be God.
Congratulations 🎊

In your previous thread you said
"One dark side to moving abroad is that you have more chances of being divorced by your wife. This is a story for another day as I have gathered enough reason on why families divorce and will create a thread on this someday." when will you be creating this thread?

There is no second hand job abroad.
It is only in black Africa you have second hand jobs.

Thanks, @Usefulsense! Yes, the Subclass 186 visa grants immediate Permanent Residency in Australia. Unlike some other countries, you don’t need to work for a specific number of years to qualify for PR. Once your visa is granted, you’re a permanent resident right away, which is one of the reasons Australia is such a popular destination for skilled workers.

If you’re considering applying, I’d be happy to share more about my experience! For detailed guidance and support with your visa application, don’t hesitate to contact Emigrate Lawyers. We specialize in navigating the complexities of Australian migration law to ensure a smooth and successful application process.
