They realised that people of colour are rising and taking positions once deemed too technical or exclusive—positions traditionally reserved for white individuals. So, they crafted a narrative, to white people, they claim that is anti-white. To Black people, they push the idea that DEI is anti-meritocracy, hoping to make you feel ashamed of earning what’s rightfully yours or taking a seat at the table.

Surely, It’s very unsettling for them having people like Okonjo-Iweala (the first African and woman to lead the WTO), Mohamed Kande (the first Black man to lead one of the Big Four accounting firms), and General Charles Q. Brown, Jr. (the first Black man to hold the highest-ranking military position in the U.S. with over 130 hours of combat flight time) challenges their narrative, add to that the many Indian executives leading top tech companies.

Do you know a research was done that when job applications from various backgrounds were submitted with names visible, white applicants had a significantly higher chance of getting hired. However during DEI initiative, when names were removed from CVs, the probability of the offer going to a white person reduced significantly. What does that tell you?

America has always had Affirmative Action (DEI of those days) and hundreds of thousands of middle class black Americans are the products of the capital that brought into their communities. Throwing out hundreds of thousands of families overnight creates an economic tsunami in the community, impacts children of those breadwinners decades into the future and has an economic impact which can be likened to burning down Black Wall Street

It has always been the case in America that blacks flee to Northern cities (New York. Detroit, Boston) etc to find work after being economically locked out in the South, and the party of the South (Republican) is in power implementing the same economic approach they have always taken toward black people.

In life, you don't have to be the smartest, you just need capital and opportunity. If affirmative action, DEI or whatever you call it provide that opportunity for us, that is a net positive and you will be stüpid to think otherwise in the name of "merit".

Using an analogy from "Things fall apart", if you look at Nigeria now, the most successful Nigerian families are those who engaged with the white colonisers during colonialism, serving as Clerks and Administrative assistants. They were not necessarily the smartest or most diligent in the village. It was the likes of Okonkwo that were the smartest, strongest and most diligent. But the opportunity that working with the Colonialists provided them means their descendants are now miles ahead (smarter, more intelligent and wealthier) than the Okonkwos that were forming strong head. By merit Okonkwos descendants are supposed to be the most successful, since Okonkwo was the strongest and most diligent man in the village. This should tell you that opportunity trumps merit.

Anyone killing opportunity to black men, even to the average amongst us is an enemy. And it's not like DEI hires are the dumbest amongst us, they still went to school to be able to get those jobs, and their children will do even better like the sons of those colonial clerks who are now the big men of our society.

Recently I got tired of travelling cross country almost daily for my job. I said let me throw few applications. One job I applied for was a blind application, they couldn't even see my name, they could only judge my answers in order to whittle down candidates. That was refreshing. Mind you both my first name and surname are English as a typical Ijaw man. I heard these blind applications are increasing in uptake, and all partly as a result of all these equal opportunity acts. I have been out of the job market for over 12 years as I only get promotions within the same company so I don't know what's happening in other companies, it was refreshing
