The process has not changed. The primary auction is just one day which is once in every two weeks. It's usually a wednesday, where Tbills are issued, but you can bid for Tbills any working day of the week (on or before the Tuesday preceding the primary auction day.). Hence you can still bid for the primary auction of this week by tomorrow morning.

However, secondary market activities (bidding and issue) of Tbills is every working day of the week.
Sorry my question may look meaningless, but can someone with 1milion,partake in primary bid, and what is the interest rate for a year.
Lastly must I have an account in that bank?
Thanks.
Wema app treasure bill interest rate is 17% for 241days , I'm looking for a better offer

For most banks, with as low as 100k, you can participate in primary auction. Normally, once your money is less than 50m, it's always best/compulsory to go with the bank rate. Primary market rate always come out at the end of the auction, you can only make reference to the last rate which was around 22%+ For any bank you wish to use, definitely you have to be a customer of that bank otherwise you don't have a relationship with them.

What you saw on Wema app is secondary market rate and it's always lower than primary acuction rate all things being equal.

I will also advice you to read more on how Tbills work. This thread is a good source of material.

Good day house,

Recently I saw 30% for 730days on FAIR MONEY APP

It's tempting but all these Fintech app might/ might not fuckup soon now or later.

Just my observation!

From account opening to purchase - did everything online (email)
Hi, please does anyone have an idea if it is possible for me to:

1. Open an account with stanbic IBTC bank,

2. Get my account details and mobile application and also

3. Invest in primary/secondary market tbills

WITHOUT going to the bank branch? Like can all these be done via email as I am unable to visit any bank at the moment?

Just send an email to their customer care(customercarenigeria@stanbicibtc.com). They will answer your questions very well. Their customer care is very efficient. You can include your phone number as they might want to call you.

Sure to 1 and 2. You will be assigned to an account officer who will handle 3.

Wa o. That is why it is good to ask questions or to read TCs. On the surface, somebody will think it is 30% per annum.

Not 30% per annum, it's 30% for 730days, it's just like saving bond.

It's not 15% per year, it's 10% withholding tax on that tenor.

Go to their app nd see things for ur self.

Am just sharing it as an opportunities but am not sure about their genuity.

Although they claim to be a microfinance bank but this is Nigeria.

Am not their agent nd I don't work for them. Do ur due diligence well before u do anything with them

Hi Everyone, please I need clarification on this. I came across a FGN bond with a coupon of 16.29 for two years. Assuming someone invests with N100,000, will the person get paid 16.29% of the principal in a year? OR it will be half of the 16.29% twice in a year? Thank you.

Nawa!! You hear inflation has gone up and you position hoping DMO will consider and perhaps leave the rate unchanged irrespective of the oversubscription, only for the rate to go down by almost a percent. This is just so depressing abeg!

Please does anyone know the process for TB investing with fcmb or fidelity bank. What rate did they give for the last primary auction for 365 days?

I already have account with the 2 banks that's why I'm considering them. Their branch staff aren't very knowledgeable about how it's done. Fidelity staff actually said N50m minimum investment and I know that can't be true. Are they more reliable and stress-free banks?
